Guest Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 your correct being at the front does not come easy not mater what its is granted , and i was mening time to get things done ,and i belive the physical aspect is greater but it does depend on what your driving .... G , i have frequently seen 2.5 g on the logger which is slightly more than we saw on traces of the SR3 and Sr8 round coram at snetterton , i know exactly whay you mean about rule bending , contact does apear at club level to get a blind eye turned most of the time , at national A events like super 1 its tighter , racing in europe is generally alot cleaner , however people do get pulled up and docked places but its rare . and most of the MSA diseplinery hearing are karting related which never bodes well , i know of 2 recent bans due to taking matters into people own hands . and going back 10 years ... circuit racing involved alot of panel damage in certain classes , i had a totalled R5 turbo to prove that ... BTCC seems a law unto itself at times. Quote
Lurksalot Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I would agree about the contact issue you have raised Ian but only to a point. That point would be cost . In the karts, the costs are a new bumber or pods, pennnies really. in circuit racing it is new body panels which at club level is expensive if the driver has to pay , but..... touring cars show the way with the bumper car attitude, as the cost (and punishments) don't seem to matter . Pilot Pete Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 just a thought as well for the north east crew, remember price has doubled for 2009 practise to £40 unless you join the club that gets you it for £30 , luckily you can pay by paypal so will be trawling the garage to stick some s***e on ebay to cover Had some cash kicking about in my paypal so just done that! conibear Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Agree, BTCC to me is a farce, I know it provides entertainment but not necessarily does the best driver get the right rewards. What about the German Touring car championsips, thats a joke Harv, what jet would you recommend is a good base to start with on my MAX. Currently it drinks fuel and will not pick up cleanly until 6k Quote

conibear Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I'm not really referring to the cost implications of contact in karting, more like dare I suggest, 'contact being used to get past one in front of one' I have witnessed some horrible Cadet crashes, some caused by relaxed marshalling towards contact Ultimately, the C.O.C is to be blame, but as Harv implied officials come from within Quote
conibear Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Harv, not sure on what jet is in it, Kart is in Somerset But why would it drink fuel Carb refurbed, clean as a whistle Power valve seems ok, but don't come into about 6.5k which I believe is about right Quote
Guest Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 yep seems right , stick a 168 in when the air is cold and dense , smaller jets till it starts popping and missing on the straights then go back up one jet ..... that should have it right , however rotax jetting is more frustrating than getting a westfield chassis to handle right , how's the cateringvan comming on? Quote
conibear Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Excuse me, Cateringvan Do you mean Caterham It's up at Arch at the mo, having a few bars put in. Got a lot to do when it comes back, then I got to get my head around setting the b*****d up So what would be the largest and smallest jet I should carry as spares Quote
Guest Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 biggest i have i belive is a 172 , smallest a 152 Quote
