What is the easiest way to have a look at this? Thanks Ross Ross, it is very simple if you know how as you need the to know how to "pop" the flywheel off. Take the starter housing off, remove the flywheel nut, put it back on so that it covers the threads and the put a screw driver behind the flywheel, put a bit of presure on and hit the nut with a hammer, 1 sharp knock and it should be off. it sounds like your kart has the cheat key ways on, they are ground down to advance the timing.
