JeffC Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 aye the boys birel is something else, bearing in mind the engine is running s**t misfiring and cutting it produced some cracking times very disheartened with my Kart, 50.2 is the best I managed and it just doesnt feel right, turn in and it undertstreers, tis like been back in me duratec westy! need to go back to basics and sort the axle out, still has far too much grip at the rear widening the rears helps but not enuf , will make a point of getting it sorted this week on uploading the last 5 mins of you three battling it out oh and had a full sunday dinner to come home too Quote
JeffC Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 I did a 48.5 (I think it was a .57 iirc) which if I'm comparing to what I've done previously is unreal! boy reckons his was a 48.52 oh and Ryan managed a 51.2 on his first drive which Im well happy with scarely he is getting closer to my pace Quote
boblog Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Terrible thing this old age Jeff, look at Dippty compaired to me, and yes I spin, and shortcut, and am as ruff as bulls lugsetc/etc/etc. But I still think it is old bl....dy age Even the captain cannot beat his first born. Quote

Should see if you can find the Junior WF record. Wish I had a bit more time in that kart, sure I could have got towards a 47 without the traffic, that 48.5 wasn't all that great a lap really, was really suprised when the time came up. But 48.5's this time of year is just fookin unreal either way!! Jeff, get yer back axle changed and some front hubs! I am absolutly buzzing and inspired tonight, think I might go and spend a wod! Your kart handled a lot like mine today, understeered like a pig. I tried moving the hubs out which returned some front end grip but then lost all the rear end grip. Like I say I should have moved the rear hubs in but didn't bother. The guy at prosport told me to get front hubs ages ago which I was going to do, but they didn't seem to make much difference on your kart so I didn't bother, but your problems sound like they are more rear axle anyway! Was impressed with wee Ryan, 51.2 is b****y good on his 1st go in the kart! Quote
Pilot Pete Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Look at the cappy go! He's found his mojo again! Quote
JeffC Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 indeed it was 48.51 damn my fat fingers on the keyboard boy has just been telling me where im going wrong and watching the captain in my kart he is right im going far to hot into the top corner onto the back straight, everyone was passing me there today Log passed me 3 times there watching the video its quite alarming how close my kart was to yours Pete when the captain is at the helm Quote
conibear Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 still has far too much grip at the rear widening the rears helps but not enuf Widening the rear will only give you more rear end grip. To get rid of your karts understeer, you need to widen the front and narrow the rears in. I'm sure I've told you this before Also, it must of been cold today, did you pump the tyres up more Quote
conibear Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Vice versa, if it oversteers you widen the rear and narrow the front Quote

What type are they? Quote
boblog Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 To be fair, AJ's pro kart was handling very well and it was on "hard" second hand vegas, SL8's. The briggies Dan was on were super soft, you do not need any more help Pilot Quote
