daveac
Hi, Counting down the days - collect first week in September! Just wondering, does anyone know which Haynes manual would be best given that I'm going for the 1600 sport - will it be the focus one? Just after something to give me a bit more depth on the mechanicals than the westfield build manual. Anyone in Cornwall by the way? Cheers Dave
flat_four
Hi, and good choice! It's a cracking little engine!! It all depends how much you are intending to do with the engine, as ultimately that's the only thing that the Focus and Westy have in common. I bought a Sierra manual (Ebay for about £1) for gearbox and drivetrain-related stuff, and also a Focus manual I thought it would be useful for the engine (I was rebuilding mine). The most invaluable thing you can get IMHO is the Ford TIS (Technical Information Sevice) DVD (again, Ebay for about a fiver I think). It's the same software as all the Ford dealers use and covers all models, pluse every bit of tech info (camshaft opening / closing angles anyone?) you could want. Don't think I really used my Focus manual much after getting that... HTH, John
