Professionally Built 1.8 Zetec Engine

For sale is my 1800 Zetec engine as a complete engine including all the bits you need to drop it straight in. The engine produces circa 165bhp in it’s current spec.

This is not a standard engine. It was originally built by Procomp Motorsport using the 130ps engine.

Also included is the Procomp Motorsport repackable, aluminium exhaust and their manifold too.

It also has a Procomp Motorsport, baffled aluminium low level sump.

Another feature is the lightweight Dunnel flywheel.

An Alpha Silver Kit ECU was fitted which includes twin 40 DCOE carbs making it eligible for a number of race series such as the BARC Westfiield champs.

The ECU is also extremely reliable and comes with the following features taken from the Webcon site:

“The system features a 3-D map - speed limiter - gearshift lamp output and

tachometer output. This highly successful combination releases the performance potential of an engine while maintaining excellent driveability and fuel consumption.” http://www.webcon.co.uk/alpha/index.htm

A couple of months ago I took the car to renowned Alpha/Zetec/Westfield specialists Northampton Motorsport who stripped the engine and fitted upgraded kent cams, larger chokes and timed it all up on their rolling road using Kent’s lightweight Alloy Vernier Pulleys.

The engine has now been run in and is like new.

To build this engine could cost you over £4500 in parts alone whereas mine is fully built and includes all ancillaries to drop straight into your car. The only other part you would need would be a radiator and possibly oil cooler or fan. Connect it up and off you go!

As a bunch of parts on their own I know I’d get more for it but I don’t really have the time to strip it down so I’m looking for offers over £3000 for the complete engine and it can bee seen running together with the rolling road print outs from Northampton Motorsport.

Class A or B :D

Having mulled it over this week I can't afford the time (house renovating too) to fix the gearbox or the money (Ditto I guess :D) to have someone else do it this year  :(   so may as well save up for a full crack at it next year - just trying to decide on a 1600 multivalve or a Duratec! This year was only ever going to be a warm up for next anyway.

Only just had the engine rebuilt too..... do you think Guy needs a spare one?  ???  :D

Will probably still head up to Donington so see you there maybe?
