A pair of QED 420 cams. 2 seasons old.

Vauxhall XE Camshaft Data :Q420 Description:

These are mechanical profile camshafts, designed to operate at much higher speed than standard engines. These cams consequently require solid cam followers. They also require pistons with deeper valve pockets, to accommodate the higher lift.

Peak Power: 215 - 225 bhp

Peak Torque170-180 lbf.ft

Expressed Period:285°

Lift:0.418”

Inlet Fully Open:100° ATDC

Inlet Lift @ TDC:0.165” Exhaust Fully Open:106° BTDC

Exhaust Lift @ TDC:0.125”

Inlet Valve Clearance:0.006”

Exhaust Valve Clearance:0.009”

My car achieved 211bhp @ 6976rpm and 181lbft @ 5058rpm so it seems the power claims by QED are correct.

Sedsy, I now have QED460V. They are a b***h on the road at low revs but on track with the revs up it's a different story. The 420 were a great compromise with over 170lbft of torque between 3500rpm and 6000rpm, I now get this between 4750rpm and 7000rpm.

i am getting 190bhp and 167 ftlbs with my current set up on kent fast road cams now.
