Pew
Okay after a great day at Curborough with the Shropshire Area lads by clutch cable decided to disengage from the Fork Release / Throwout Lever. After limited paddock investigation it seems that a rubber retainer is worn enough to let the cable end slip through then off through the larger of the two holes on the lever. The questions are.... 1. Where can I find a replacement retainer... 2. Do I need one 3. Do you have one on your clutch 1700 X/Flow, Type 9 gear box Images of said retainer... tex
i run my type 9 without the grommet - use a escort mk 2 cable - holds in the slot under pressure fine
Pew
Okay, I have reattached the cable without the grommit ensuring the pressure on the cable is such to keep the cable under tension when clutch is engaged.... Now just need to try it so fingers crossed things all stay connected... Will pop to local motor factors and try and get a grommit...
jeff oakley
It is a ford part which I suspect is not available now. It was only there to stop any vibrations coming through the cable. If you get the cable in the fork and adjust correctly it will stop in unless the fork is worn.
