RobK
Morning all. have spent many days and much money rebuilding our car from a bare chassis up. Got the megasquirt finished and the engine running so now on to the final bits and pieces to get it through an MOT. Our inertia seat belt reels seem to have seized, sadly they were sat near the garage door and rain water manged to blow in so they have been sat in a puddle for a few days! Dried them out but still wont work! Could too much of the belt have returned to the reel? Have tried everything i can think of, they dont come to bits easily. Can post up a pic if that would help, we are changing to harnessess but not for a few months if possible.
Asterix
Try talcum powder as a lubricant. Work it the same way you would with a fluid based lubricant. N.b. the talcum powder may take some time to disperse but if it works, small price to pay
It Almost Looks Like A Car
You probably have done this already but....are you holding them the correct way up when you pull out the webbing? They will lock if you hold em at angle or upside down, suppose it is to stop you falling out in a rtc.
