Salisbury LSD English Axle (MK1/2 Escort)

Surplus to requirements.

I have for sale a Salisbury LSD/3.54 crownwheel and pinion combination installed in the standard English (Mk1/2 Escort) casing suitable for either the SE/SEW (live axle) or SEi (English diff in the Westfield Casing) though this LSD is more suitable for the live axle Westies.

Phil at Road and Race Transmissions has given the diff a once over and checked out the torque setting across the LSD (which is 60Ft/Lbs dry and should drop once lubricated).

The pinion and diff bearings all check out ok and there is plenty of life left in the crownwheel and pinion.

The unit was working well prior to removal, this and due to the above I believe therefore that the unit is in good working order.

Unless you want to play with the torque setting on the LSD (IE re-shim it) to suit your specific needs this should be a straight bolt in job.

Spares for the LSD are still readliy available (about £70 for a full service kit) and an LSD re-build (when required) should be around £150 including parts and labour plus VAT.

Bearing in mind that a new Salisbury/Tranex LSD will be circa £450 + VAT and the 3.54 ratio is getting hard to find now (they fetch around £100 on their own when stripped out of the diff unit) I'm looking for £300 plus carridge for this "buy and fit option"

First dibbs goes to WSCC members and I'll deal with interest in post order on this thread.

Due to the weight of the diff unit collection from Cambridge would be prefered, from experience carridge will be around £25

SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about being so slack on this one, the diff was sold on the 27th Jan subject to funds clearing on the 14th Feb (which thay did today) and a deposite being paid (which it was).

I forgot to post up to say so.

Sorry if this caused any confusion or miffed anybody.

Chaz.

Hi,

I am interested in your LSD

Unsure if the diff ratio will suite me needs, at 70 mph the crossflow in 5th gear is at 3200 rpm.

What was the cruising revs in years witht this diff?

Thanks
