Engine tuners in Derbyshire area

Hi all,

I'm in the process of trying to find my 1st Westfield and wondered where I would take it for engine upgrades, and rolling road tuning and so on in the Derbyshire area, if anyone knows where Buxton is , thats me  :D

All the ones I can find on the web are down south  :(  ie. Burton,Vulcan...

I know its a bit previous seeing as I haven't even got a car yet but I was just curious as to where anyone can get the tasty upgrades from around here.

If its any help I hope to get a Zetec based car but might have to lower my sights a bit to CHV/Pinto.

Welcome :t-up:

It does depend on what you actually want doing to be honest. The 'upgraders' are out there - it's just that most have their own specialist line of work i.e. suspension, engine performance upgrades, the actual tuning of the engine itself once it is running, etc, etc

Give us an idea of what you are thinking about, and I'm sure someone can give suggestions on where the service can be obtained :t-up:

Dont forget that for many folk, some of the fun of owning this type of car is getting the spanners out yourself from time to time. Most companies will post stuff out :)

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm not frightened about getting my hands dirty,in fact I would prefer to build my own car but the boss of the house(wife) says I must buy second hand first... :(

so my idea is to hopefully get a standard spec, mid 90's Zetec car and upgrade it ,to scratch the itch so to speak. That said I don't feel in any way capable of rebuilding an engine so for final setting up of suspension and any engine work I would need some expert help.(at least in the beginning).

P.S. Car will be for road use with hopefully some track days too.

Northampton Motorsports - Northampton

Stuart Taylor Motorsports - Burton

John Noble - Chesterfield

...to name but a few (I know a couple of mechanics who can help with the heavy stuff as well)...

Northampton Motorsport is a fair hike from Buxton - and yes, it has been heard of in Derby! - but well recommended. Or there's Dennis Vessey between deletive and Grimsby.

We sometimes get up towards Buxton on a summer evening's run, though it never happened this last year
