jeff oakley Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 I would bet a tenner that there is an element of truth in this story. You can see the liberal anti war whinging over paid no skill toss pot media types who are now sucking every penny they can from the gravy train the olympics is, sitting in a "brainstorming" session floating this one across a desk or two. Ken would be all for sticking two fingers up to the military, unfortunatly someone has spilt the beans and this has happened. The opening ceremony will contain diverse dancing by one legged cross dressing muslim black gay lesbian cross gender vegitarian anti war people, who will represent the UK. Simon Cowell is already planning "freak factor" where only mentally controllable wanabees will get through to dance in the national dress which will obviously be flowing brightly coloured specifically designed to offend every sane person but not one of the f******s in power. The picture of Concorde and the Red arrows still shows what we can do if it wasn't for the type of people we allow to be put in charge of anything just because they can run a bit fast or have pictures of someone in royalty ****** a donkey. It really makes me incandescant with rage Quote
alan dixon Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Plus, there is a long standing CAA law that prohibits single engined aircraft from flying over London. Exceptions can be made of course, but that doesn't detract from the fact that in normal circumstances, the Red Arrows are banned from London anyway. I hope an exception can be made IF this turns out to be a real story... Just as well the CAA were not around during the Battle of Britain in 1940 Quote

Barry Ashcroft Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 QUOTE Following Steve Trevor's comment, whilst I agree that the Red Arrows should be allowed to perform; the Olympics are about AMATEURS excelling in their chosen field, not professionals. R. Senn, Stratford London E15 If they want amateurs I'm willing to have ago in a Hawk Quote

Barry Ashcroft Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Don't worry I'll have the last laugh when his chassis comes back like swiss cheese Quote
Gromit Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Yes I do seem to remember him saying he wanted to lose a bit of weight out of it. I can hear all those bits of rivets rattling around as we speak. Quote
Chris Elworthy Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 ALL copters above London are twin engined, trust me... Do you remember before exams at school when your teacher said "read the question carefully" I did not say single engined, I said single propulsion. At least twin engined fixed wing planes have two sources of propulsion. PS - I could never trust you Quote
Blatman Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Well, yes, but if the rotor failed it woudn't matter how many engines it had... PS - I could never trust you I should hope not Quote
