DavidC Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Signed! What has this country become? Quote
kipford Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Signed, plus sent it round work for them to sign as well. Quote
Blatman Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Er, can someone point me to the news item on this? Can't find it on the Beeb web site anywhere... Plus, there is a long standing CAA law that prohibits single engined aircraft from flying over London. Exceptions can be made of course, but that doesn't detract from the fact that in normal circumstances, the Red Arrows are banned from London anyway. I hope an exception can be made IF this turns out to be a real story... Quote
*Emma* Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Hmm, perhaps Blatman has a point. Only news items I've found on this are from The Sun and an Indian news website! Quote
Chris Elworthy Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 If its not factual wth is there a petition on it I have signed it btw, its one of the few things us Brits can still be really proud of. Red Arrows flew over Buck house recently as did Spitfire & Hurricane as part of BBMF. And (especially bearing in mind reent helicopter events) how come there are so many of those buzzing over London if single propulsion craft are such a hazard. If they don't allow the Red Arrows at 2012 for the stated reasons we may as well pack up and go home............wherever that is, somewhere beige I expect. Grrrrrrrrrrr Quote
*Emma* Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 If its not factual wth is there a petition on it There's a petition here for Jeremy Clarkson for PM! Just because there's a petition about something, doesn't necessarily mean it's based on fact! Like Blatman, I'd prefer to learn the facts from a trusted news source, and 'The Sun' is not that! Quote
Blatman Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 ALL copters above London are twin engined, trust me... Red Arrows flew over Buck house recently as did Spitfire & Hurricane as part of BBMF. An exception, as noted. They also flew for the Queens Golden Jubilee. If its not factual wth is there a petition on it Becasue you can... How many spurious petitions are there on that site? Lots. Have a look... lots of them get pulled down quite quickly, but they are there... Quote
V8grunt Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Surely the"Carbon Footprint" brigade will get them banned anyway! I wonder if the pilots have to pay £10 "Green Tax" every time they take off? If it's £10 a shot to fly why don't we all donate £100 and get rid of this global warming thing! Quote
zoso Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 If its not factual wth is there a petition on it Becasue you can... How many spurious petitions are there on that site? Lots. Have a look... lots of them get pulled down quite quickly, but they are there... Yeah, like the one to revoke America's independance and reclaim it for the British empire... That one was funny though. It's a fair point blatters, if it does turn out to be true it is a farse, however if it's a fake it's a farse anyway... May the farse be with you! Quote
*Emma* Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Check this out from the Lincolnshire Echo! Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted September 21, 2007 Author Posted September 21, 2007 Check this out from the Lincolnshire Echo! It just proves how effective our protests have been! And of course it must be wrong cos a bunch of carrot crunshers from Lincolnshire have had it written on parchment! Buzz Quote
Charlie-speedsport Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 goodness me!!! what the devil!!! Unbelievable, - someone tell me this is a joke, - it must be, - musn't it!!!!!!!!! Signed! What a P**s poor shambolic country we live in!!!! Quote
*Emma* Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 And of course it must be wrong cos a bunch of carrot crunshers from Lincolnshire have had it written on parchment! Don't forget to walk the whippet and wear your flat cap as you go out to buy the 'Yorkshire Post'! Quote

Clarkson's not running for PM?! That's really sad. He would bring back Concorde and let the red arrows display for 2012. Probably tie the PC greenies to the wings. Tubs Quote
Lurksalot Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 goodness me All this goes to show is that there is too much media and not enough news how quick are we all to be sucked into the s***e that gets circulated as news and is nothing more than rumours and editorial crap. It happens on any/ most emotive topics and tunnels peoples visions and outlooks for the worst . Just look at how many on here have been quick to slag off the nation on the back of someone apparently taking the P**s , or at least presenting hearsay a fact It'll probably turn out true and I will have to spy my A*** on this one Quote
