Gromit Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 QUOTE We're turning into a Nation of whiny Americans, our own PM's fault for sucking off Mr Bush. Whilst I'm on my soapbox, I really detest the wanting to 'sue for the dumbest little thing' mentality we've been adopting the past 5-10 years. Oh how I'd love to be a judge Whiny little cnut trying to sue a peanut company for not stating 'contains peanuts' on their packaging "I want £10million due to emotional/psychological/physical pain caused" Me "f**k off you stupid little man, £50k charge for wasting my time and 3 years in a homosexual Turkish prison, now get the f**k outta my court" Hmmm... think I've found an alternative career Bean for KING. Oh and signed up as well. Quote

Norman Verona Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Paul, Your absoloutley correct in what you say. However if you were a fool and had been elected to a £100,000 pa job (plus expenses) then you would feel you had to do something to justify that money. It doesn't matter if it's sensible or correct as long as you spend all your working time doing something. The more crap you produce the more you justify the salary Quote

Howard Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 Too Military? And what, pray tell, are the origins of such classic events as the Javelin, Discus, Shot-Putt and Hammer? Perhaps we should ban them along with rifle shooting. Maybe those links are old and tenuous now, but the same could be said about the Red Arrows being not a display of military might but a supreme demonstration of skill. Quote

Tubs Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 I think that we are missing the point here. The committee is showing the world that Britain is a truly PC nation and, as a result, we won't be winning any medals, not because were crap, but because it is inappropriate to allow other competitors to loose.
