Tubs Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 I was watching the price and did think there would be a possible profit, but I think that they've lost too much confidence from their depositors. I think the only chance is if there is a buyout, but that won't happen until the current storm blws over and I don't think will be for much over 260. Still, if you've got money o burn - Tubs Quote
JeffC Posted September 19, 2007 Author Posted September 19, 2007 mate of mine gave me the idea, Ive never looked at stuff like this before, he stuck £10k in at 277 this morning and reckons leaving it long term he will get a return its got me thinking and Ive followed the link david posted all day and this afternoon they dropped to 246 , and at 5.07 they were at 336, If Id brave enough to chuck £40k in for a couple of hours work this would have left a sizeable reward surely, watching the way things were fluctuating up and down you could only win or loose very little or am I missing something Quote

NR shares could have plummeted into penny shares from 246 due to all kinds of reasons (as opposed to risen to 336). The best investors, invest in sure things. (for "invest", you can also read "gambl" with a little spelling license). See you on partypoker.com playing with the funnymoney. Quote

I had a go a couple of years ago and trebled my money, I only put a grand in so didn't make a great deal, but obviously, if you stick in 3 or somthing, the rewards get better. Site I used was http://www.tdwaterhouse.co.uk/ I had a tip off mind that made the decision a bit easier. Quote
JeffC Posted September 19, 2007 Author Posted September 19, 2007 am I right in thinking that you could buy one minute and sell the next if the price shot up as it did today Quote
Guest Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Just remember... most tip-offs are deliberately organised as such... boss tells staff, staff tell friends... share price engineering. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Don't forget you will end up paying commission along the way somewhere Think of stocks as similar to walking into the betting shop - sometimes you back a winner and others you lose your shirt - as noted before don't spend what you aren't prepared to lose - if it comes off is a bonus if it doesn't then so be it Quote
JeffC Posted September 19, 2007 Author Posted September 19, 2007 is there a saying... a fool and his money soonest parted Quote
Pilot Pete Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 am I right in thinking that you could buy one minute and sell the next if the price shot up as it did today You can put up your shares to sell, but someone obviously has to buy them. Mine sold within hours no problems. The amount of people who log on, you shouldn't have any issues. You would want a nice steady rise before putting them up for sale. If there moving up and down viloently, someone might buy them when there low That happened to my boss who gave me the tip I sold just before he did at pretty much the right time (when my balls shrank). I'm not a stockbroker mind so could be talking balony! and probably am. Quote
Pilot Pete Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 Just remember... most tip-offs are deliberately organised as such... boss tells staff, staff tell friends... share price engineering. Correct, customer tells salesman, salesman tells me, I buy shares in his customer. Quote
Asterix Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 am I right in thinking that you could buy one minute and sell the next if the price shot up as it did today depends...normally, the quicker the response, the higher the price. Quote

Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 funny old game this dropped to 201 this morning! all of the websites Im following this on have a 15 minute delay, why is that and what good is that when prices change every second When you register with a stockbroker like TD Waterhouse, at the time of buying/selling you are quoted a price, you have something like 5 seconds (you can see the clock ticking) to accept or decline the deal. About 8 years ago I had a quite good run, which virtually paid for my Westy, BUT you have to accept the rough with the smooth, and I still have some shares that are worth less than I paid for em' but overall I'm well up It's your money, only you can decide wether to GAMBLE or not.
