meeting130403-001.jpg

We have two options for this Sunday (9th September). We could either meet as usual at midday at the Bird in Hand, Knowl Hill, Twyford or meet up earlier as 9.45 and head down to the Pistonheads Virginia Waters meeting. (Details here.)

It looks as though it'll be a warm and sunny day, so a good excuse to get your westy out. PLease post your preferences.

As some of you may know I have sold my westy and bought an Elise. I need therefore to find a new AO for the area. Any volunteers?

I'll vote for the Bird as usual, although I don't know if I'll be there or not. I do know that if I attend, it'll be in the tin top :(

If the PH meet is in the car park on the A30, you have to pay to get in as a Westfield won't fit under the barrier

Yes, I'm a cheapskate

Might be nice to do something different and do the Pistonheads meet. Usually some pretty tasty machinery there and the suns gonna be out!

Actually, there's no need to choose. Those who wish to go to the VW meet can meet up at 9.45 at the Bird (or perhaps somewhere else if it's just SKooby and me) ready to head off at 10, and those who just want a chat and a pint (or are too tight to pay the VW parking fee  :p ) can meet up at the Bird as usual.

Hi Phil

So you sold the Westie then.

Only just got back from holiday yesterday, so not sure what (if anything) is planned for my weekend so will reserve judgement for moment.

Just how much is the car park fee  ???  ???  ..........only I did spend too much while I was away  :p  :p  :D  :D

Hi David.

Yep, the Westy drive off into the sunset last Thursday, though I may see it still at a few track days, as the new owners (a father and two sons) plan to use it as a track day car.

The car park's 4 quid if I remember correctly.

It was only a dig at the cheapskate  :p  :p  :D  :D  :D

So you managed to get the engine sorted then I take it.

Did you manage to sneak in a holiday, or are you in the doghouse?

Will let you know in the next day or so if to expect me. Won't be in the Westfield, so will either be the Mondeo or the wifes MX-5

Yeah but 4 quid is 4 quid. If it was a nice car park, fair enough, but it's just a regular open air car park with no facilities...

I'll spend my 4 quid on a coffe at the Bird, where it looks like I'll be on me own :bangshead::p:D

Still, at least I won't have all you bobble hats cramping my style :p

Your comments made me chukkle which is a good thing today.

I cannot believe Phil has sold his Westfield to get an Elise, an Exige might be tempting but nah  :p

Yep, I fitted a replacement engine, though the buyer took the old one as well. In the doghouse. :(

Hi Phil,

Been a lurker here for a while, but first post.

I think I will be attending the Bird In Hand at midday (first time   ) and hopefully I'll see some of you there.

Cheers

Den
