chrisinoxford
Gents. I purchased a pressure switch from merlin motor sport When i start my engine the display registers 10bar obviouly not correct. Do they have different ranges? my engine is a vx redtop, not sure what pressure it should be reading but 10bar is not right. I have checked wires and they are right. Any ideas? Chris. stu999
The pressure switch *must* match the guage - or strange readings will result...
chrisinoxford
i did receive a switch with my smiths gauges however it has a rather large body and doesnt fit. stu999
You need to get one from Smiths that does fit, or otherwise plumb in an adaptation to allow your existing Smiths switch to fit
chrisinoxford
the thread is fine just the very large body wont fit, perhaps i will get an adapter and move it to the other port. from memory this is a much larger diameter. chris. Bean
I bought VDO oil pressure and water temperature sender units, could have sworn my gauges were VDO but no they're Smiths. Didn't half get some funny readings. Have now replaced gauges with VDO to match senders, all good.
