There's a zoo - that should fill 1/2 a day. then go to Penzance and go on a chopper ride to the Scilly Isles. There's another day. There's also banger racing one night a week in the summer near to a large Tescos on the outskirts and a fair on the coast road to Padstow.

Spend all your dosh on your kids instead of that fangles machine in your garage  :p  ;)

There are *much* better beaches than the ones in Newquay. My favourite is Harlyn Bay which is just west of Padstow, and there are great beaches either side of Harlyn too.

Check for a hill climb at Tregrehan House in St Austell, usually on a Sunday. There's a market nearby if the Mrs/kids get bored ;)

Padstow is OK but always busy.

For a fishing trip out I woudn't go from Padstow but from somewhere/anywhere else, but it depends what you want. Lots of the sea fishing for tourists seems to be Mackerel fishing, but it's simply a case of throwing a line overboard and wating for a fish to bite. The kids will probably love it, you may be bored, but it's always nice to be out on the water ;) Last time I took some kids Mackerel fishing I think we went from Mevagissey. If you go from the north coast, you may see Basking Sharks (there may even be basking shark spotting trips) and atlantic dolphins. IIRC, there's a "fast boat" boat trip from Padstow, which I haven't done, but it looked a laugh...

There's the Eden Project of course, Lands End (although there ain't much there), there's a bird of prey sanctuary where you can get to handle the birds (one of my favourites, but I like Raptors...) near to St Dennis (I think...). You could go look at St Michaels Mount, Bodmin Moor, Lizard Point, wander round any number of coastal towns and villages like Fowey, or St Ives, Perranporth, St Agnes etc etc. You could cycle the Camel Trail if you're feeling energetic...

Or you could ask the locals ;)

Matt I will be in Cornwall from the 9th of Aug (til 20th) and have had a look at motorsport in Cornwall. I have found a hillclimb at Castle on the 11th & 12th. Is this going to be worth having a look? Do you know of any other events? Or even is there a club meet I could attend?

We lived in Helston for 16 years.

There's Poldark mine at Wendron where you can go down a mine.

Truro is a nice city to visit if its dull weather.

St Michaels mount is also a good visit I used to go there for christmas parties
