Julian Turner - Westfield Sportscars Ltd Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Please take the opportunity to have your input to our future product development direction by undertaking the brief online survey posted on the Westfield website (www.westfield-sportscars.co.uk). The survey results will be used to help us to develop future products to best meet your current, and future, requirements. Quote
Tigger Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Julian, There is already a post running See Here regarding this survey but I'm sure some of us have missed it. Nice to know you are taking an interest in what we think, excellent idea Tigger Quote
Jenko Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 A suggestion: Why not offer a prize draw for those who complete the survey....sad but true, this works really well, and should get you a load more inputs....it need not be something substantial, but may help.... Quote
James Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Just done it! but one point I would like to make if any one is reading this from The factory, I purchased the new boot tool box from the factory recently its fantastic, nice quality tools all set into black foam which is moulded to exactly fit the boot of a westi so no more tools ratlling around in the boot as you go around bends BUT I was more than a little disipointed to find that the lid for the boot box was nothing more than a bit of white 4x (the stuff that signs are made from) this dosnt look profesional in fact it looks "Kitcar" of the Dutton type if you know what I mean. As it is ive got a local company producing an alternative item in carbon fiber I was also suprised to see that there was no Westfield branding on any part of the tool box and the lid (which is a good idea) looks really cheap and nasty not what I expected for £170.00 and I feel that the lid lets down the nice quality tool instalation under it. I thought the company would be wanting to show its direction by making this a branded product but due to the lid I think that target has been missed! but nice job on the tools and foam though Any comments from the factory? Julian Turner - Westfield Sportscars Ltd Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 Tool kits - thanks for the comments, i completely agree with your thoughts and ideas. As for the incentive for the survey - how about a free jacket (New style ) that is being launched very soon - from pulling names out of a hat. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 QUOTE from pulling names out of a hat. But .................... no names are requested when you complete the survey and ..................... you can undertake the survey more than once Quote

Al Yupright Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Please take this as constructive criticism... People are happy to fill a survey in, but they wont be so keen if there is another one 3months later. So better to do it properly the first time round. If it was me, I would withdraw it and get a proper market research company to draw one up. Offer a 250pound parts voucher for the first 5 pulled out of a hat, not a jacket that costs you peanuts! Now my personal opinion as to the ideas for future developments.... Say you'd bought TVR rather than Westfield, then I think those ideas would be good and suited to the customer base. but I think most Westfield customers would rather have something from the following rather than cruise control, push to pass etc.... Round tube laser cut chassis (like the new caterham chassis). Pushrod suspension, in cockpit adjustable ARBs. Integral locating locating pegs on the chassis for F1 style suspension alignment gantries. (piece of cake to do) Quicklift jack seats on the chassis. Quick release/removable bodywork. More engine options. Rear transaxles (like Elite offer) Bring back the FW400 and finally keep the prices realistic, otherwise the volumes will drop. Please remember this was meant as constructive criticism! Quote
MAT1800 Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 If I can throw in a suggestion.. I've been looking at Elise's ..... Unfortunately I can't afford a third car!! I know.. I'm suffering.. And neither would I get rid of my Westi.... partly because I built it! But also because it is so much fun, and so 'pure' a driving experience. But even before this great British summer, I was thinking it would be great to have a car, as fun, as quick, and pure as the Westfield but a bit more suited to perhaps the odd wet trackday.. as I might find out on Saturday... even booking a date in July is no garantee of a dry day.. Also I thought that a car which I felt safer leaving outside someones house for a while so I could just take it for the drive there rather than a dedicated blat would be nice. etc etc..... The thougts went on, but generally I think if Westfield come come up with a car somewhere between the current SEi and an elise.... I might consider changing. Should be pretty simple I would have thought, just design a car that is better than both! Quote
Julian Turner - Westfield Sportscars Ltd Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 Thanks for the comments, don't worry about the criticism. We see it as potential to take the product to new and exciting levels. If you feel it easier to add to this thread any ideas you have that would be great. Do you think it is worth me visiting the various WSCC areas to get your ideas, discuss them further at least once a year AND getting your feedback??? As for the incentive, the questionairre does not contain the hidden java code i thought it did! We could base it on who had the best idea for the year??? Quote

The Irv Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Could i suggest a built in fire extinguiser as standard?? piped to the carbs! LOL Quote
darthurs Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 A trip round to the local area meets once a year to see the local members who don't necessarily visit all of the kit car shows throughout the year would be a really good idea. You then would get to see the mods/upgrades to more of the cars and talk to the different people from throughout the UK too. It might also help to get more people along to the area meets if they get to find out directly what WF is planning and also if they can help if the future direction of the company. A single seater around the 10K mark would be nice too! Thanks Dan Quote
