Muttleys V8 Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Just watched the re run, another master in the making. Anybody prepared to put a bet on him making World Champ this year? Steve Quote
cast iron Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I have been a fan and have been watching him for years, at the Brit GP he was astonishing in last years support race, At Croft in the F3's he was visibly in his own league. I believe he was one of the factors that made Schuey quit Quote
Pembroke Pat Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Schue only drove for Jordan for a few laps before breaking the car. Then he was in a championship winning car ( the next season if I recall correctly) I think that is is a fair to compare the 6 races to a win versus 18 to a win! Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 QUOTE Fernando Alonso, McLaren (7th): “I think this was a strange race with the Safety Car being deployed so many times which worked to Lewis’ advantage today and my disadvantage. I came into the pits for the first time on lap 24 as I had no more fuel so basically there was nothing I could do. It was a shame as this resulted in a ten-second penalty but I guess that unfortunately those are the rules but there was no alternative other than to stop on track with no fuel. After that I had to push as hard as possible because I was stuck in the middle of the field and when you push to the maximum you sometimes go off track but at that stage there was nothing to lose. Whilst it was a difficult race for me I’m pleased for the team and Lewis that we were able to secure some important points and Lewis winning his first race and also that Robert is OK. I hope for a bit more luck for the US Grand Prix next week and at least I can leave Montreal with two points more than Massa.” Yes the safety car did not help F.A. but chucking the car off the road in the first corner and damaging the under side of it must have been worse. Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Yes the safety car did not help F.A. but chucking the car off the road in the first corner and damaging the under side of it must have been worse. Quite! He messed it up from the first turn of his wheels and it was downhill from then on. Oh, and how is building up a lead over Heidfeld only to have it negated every time the safety car was deployed construed to be to Hamilton's advantage? Essentially, Lewis did a perfect job and Alonso didn't. No amount of blame displacement will change that. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Oh, and how is building up a lead over Heidfeld only to have it negated every time the safety car was deployed construed to be to Hamilton's advantage? What MOTCO said; makes Alonso sound a bit of a tit. Preumably Hamilton also managed to do some kind of Darren Brown mid control thing on him to get him the 10 second penalty as well Quote
pistonbroke Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I wouldnt write Al off just yet . I thought the worst part of the race was the commentary , was waiting for someone to wake him up Quote
Darkspeed Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I recon the Super Aguri after race party would have been the one to be at - Top man Taku. Hamilton - what can you say Mr 3C - Cool Calm and Collected - all the way. As for Kubica's crash - what more justification could you ask for imposing all the crash and safety regulations of past years. Andrew Quote
oioi Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I wouldnt write Al off just yet . I thought the worst part of the race was the commentary i agree with that. commentary was its usual sh1te. came back after an add break and the dangler was droning on doing his post ad update, he started to talk about alonso being caught by massa. the tv pictures were showing massa in front of alonso as soon as they came back from the ads. Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I wouldnt write Al off just yet . Not writing him off at all. Just would have been nice for a proper compliment from him about Lewis. Lewis real metal will show when he gets a car that is not performing well and he has to nurture the team like great world champs of the past. Quote

samcooke Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Just pleased someone has come along to squish the Catalonian midget. Whatever may be said about Schumacher, I always thought he carefully trod the fine line between confidence in your superiority and arrogance, Alonso never bothered and is a dangler. Quote
mattf Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Well done Lewis. I think my bet on him winning two GP's this year will probably means he'll win five Now the Mclaren is the best car, Ron should just let them race..... I'm afraid I have to disagree with you sam, Schumacher always came across as extremely arrogant, especially after he'd taken someone off the track. Quote
