adhawkins Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Any way to prevent these idiots in future (rather than reacting to them)? (without going members only) Not really. It takes a particularly dedicated spammer to be able to post on here, as they have to have a valid e-mail address, and respond to a message that is sent to that address to validate their account. Al Yupright Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 I doubt it is really someone in the states. More like someone in the UK bouncing off an anonymising proxy over there. I'd put a wager on who it was, someone with an axe to grind from recent events. Quote

v7slr Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Any way to prevent these idiots in future (rather than reacting to them)? (without going members only) The best way is to have moderators like we have. NOT having any is why some other boards felt obliged to take other measures. I prefer this way. Despite the number of hours in a day I have this site open on my PC, I still missed all the action (dammit), proving that moderation works well. Quote
