Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Norman......NORMAN, C'mon now. It's time you started one Quote
Norman Verona Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 OK. What do you think the cause of the current, apparant, gang warfare amongst kids with guns. 1) absent/bad parents 2) lack of discipline in schools 3) the current goverment 4) Mrs Thatcher's greed culture in the 80's I go for all 4 but what's your view. ps Paul, the friday argument on BC were suggested by others and hosted by me. Have you been watching the discussion about aliases? Quote
budmikem Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 May be its due to the lack of respect of our justice system. If people new they were going to be deported or get 'hard labour' ...they would think twice about 'gang warfare'....and before the PC brigade start juming about it is mainly amongst our foreign friends....and i dont mean the youths of Llandridod Wells! Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 Yep all 4. When I was a kid in an 'inner city' slum clearance area 5minutes walk from Manchester city centre in the 50s / 60s you were scared, well not really scared but respected coppers and adults. You wouldnt dare answer back, if you did you got a thick ear, if a copper, or neighbour, or a mates dad gave you a right bollocking, you wouldnt go home and tell yer mam or dad cos' you'd get another one. None of this business of your dad going round and giving them a good kickin' or threatening to sue them, you just got on with your life and accepted that if you did wrong you were in for it. No I havent looked at the alias's thread yet. Quote

highwayman Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Choices and Consequences. We can choose to have unprotected sex and the consequences may result in a child We can choose whether to be responsible for them and our choices have greater consequences. I also find it strange how and why its predominently a male issue too and that you generally only see passionate men on saturday afternoons at sporting occasions (and the speed series of course:p) Why are so many not passionate about their kids or family More questions than answers really Quote
lukeyboy Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 If Maggie were in power she'd have probably deployed the SAS on the estates with high power rifles to sort them out I still think force sterilization for scumbags and thicko's is the way to go. There just diluting the gene pool and dragging the country down (maybe the odd politician as well). Think of the saving on family allowance, crime, road congestion... the list goes on Quote
cidersurfer Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Off the cuff. Rap music? There's some pretty violent stuff there. Video games? There's some pretty violent stuff there too... Just a thought but the violence is glorified and when it's 'virtual', it doesn't really hurt OR does it. Quote
