Buzz Billsberry
Ain't you suposed to remove the the whole link? not just the text? as you are still a commercial business advertising with a web link Buzz
Nick P
I know its against the rules, but its a shame to cut off someone that has been very helpfully to many members and has supplied some great equipment. I hope people will still be able to get intouch with Martin and I wish him all the best
Jenko
Personally, I think we shoot ourselves in the foot with these rules.... I could not give a toss if someone wants to offer me a good deal on a product they sell..........I would imagine many members would benifit from the occasional supplier posting with a special offer or bulk buy..... Rant over.....Cool wet grass, cool wet grass, etc, etc......
Bazzer
I personaly don't have a major problem with bussiness links in signatures. But if we are going to get people to remove them then it should apply to every one. I don't think JeffC sells cars for fun and I don't think Gently Hosting is a hobby either. No offence lads you were the ones I remembered and I have no problem with them staying. Its just that its not fair to pick on some people and not others. Rory's Dad
I think this is something the club should support. Why can't we have a section for members' businesses ... Westy-related or not?? It would just need all the usual disclaimers Rory's Dad
tonyrendall
I agree with Nick. Martin at MEF has been very helpful in the past and his prices and products are extremely good value. I saved a lot of money on my fuel injection/management upgrade. Tony
Darrell O'Neill
Have to agree with all the above also.... How about creating certified trade members status?
neo
I personally cant see the problem etheir, i mean his products are linked to westy ownership or upgrades, i could see it if someone was selling log cabins in switzerland or something but, Martin has helped quite a few out on this board and others, To stop his adverts will only affect other members and make them pay more surely.... If it takes a specail traders adverts section, i am in favour of that....

TBH there should be a related section for commercial business Buzz P.S Don't worry about your rant. Bazzer
So what about the fact we apply it to some people and not to others ? Or are people just ignoring this so they don't have to upset other people ? Bazzer
Mark Stanton
The WSCC received complaints not because of a small signature link which members use and appreciated by many............................. but quite simply Mef's was a fully detailed worded advert. Before jumping to conclusions, please ask. Mef was requested to remove the fully worded advert and simply install a sig thread as many WSCC members do or organise a bulk buy.
