mhc Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 From the Blue book 2006:Road going production (& specialist) cars a). The gearbox and diff casing must be of the original type and material and remain in the original position Hi Lambo . Still no specific mention of bellhousings in the regs quoted. Show me where alternative non integral bellhousings are defined and regulated. Regards ; PS, still no answers to the film question. Quote

lambo Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Hi mhc, There is no specific mention of the bellhousing in the blue book that I can find either. If you had an MT75 box with the integral bellhousing then I suppose it's fairly obvious. If I were to hazzard a guess, I would say that a non integral bellhousing would be treated as the above integral one i.e. the bellhousing would have to be as per the original type 9. Which would be rather annoying (not to mention confusing) as I have an alloy bellhousing on a type 9 box & an 1800 zetec engine. Any ideas if I'll be ok with that in class A anyone?! It will be interesting to see what the MSA say about all this! Oh and that is a splendid carbon fibre hat your friend has Ian! PS what was the film question, I can't find any reference to films in the blue book either!??! ) Quote
mhc Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 HI Lambo. Sorry i can't help with your query. Objections are only raised when you are winning, so no problems with me. But when Stigman gets into his stride ,who knows , regards Quote
lambo Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Hmmm, I don't anticipate winning anything (apart from the wooden spoon perhaps) so maybe I'll keep my head down and with a bit of luck no one will notice!! ) Quote
greeny Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 Decided against the excessive lead time and cost of the aformentioned box so I've gone for a much more rule compliant one instead. Will still be interested to see the ruling on this new box when the MSA make a decision. Quote
Arm Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 QUOTE From the Blue book 2006: Road going production (& specialist) cars a). The gearbox and diff casing must be of the original type and material and remain in the original position b). The method of gear selection must remain standard (sequential selection only where fitted as standard). Modified production cars. Transmission layout to remain as original. Gearbox free. Driven axle(s) free. Can you please double check that. I didnt think specialised production cars (kit cars) had reference to gearbox. I dont have the BB here can someone please post the exact paragraph. Quote
