pistonbroke Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Is a driver required for the LCD monitor ? I wonder if the PC thinks its A crt display ? if there is a difference between them ? sorry not used one but just a thought cos this may need its own driver or be upgraded ? Quote
davet Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 if you right click screen on desktop, you should see nvidia control panel option click on that and see if you can work though these settings, there should also be a help menu on the nvidia control panel screen Quote
Stuart Posted December 23, 2006 Author Posted December 23, 2006 I seem to really have sorted it now, guys, thanks. All I can guess is that the PSU blowing up corrupted several drivers, some of which were the Nvidia ones. At least it didn't fry any hardware and I've got out of jail for about £30 and a few hours sweat. I can't be sure anymore what the monitor resolution was before it blew up but it looks OK now on 1280 x 1024 Thanks again for all the comments - what a great boardroom. Now can play with my new ADSL max connection, which seems to be settling down at about 5.3Mb. Quote
Chasmon Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 TFT monitors do need to run at their native resolution as said and for a 15" this is 1024x768 17" and 19" are both 1280x1024. They will run lower but look rubbish! If you have the correct driver for your TFT it will limit this. Well done for sorting it.... Quote
