Stupid fixation with BHP

If all that was needed was BHP then I'd fit a 1000bhp Mercedes lorry engine.

But as it isn't just down to BHP I've got my BDR.  :D

Been keeping abreast of your build on PF mate - a very nice motor indeed and is in good hands with Stu and Chip.

My own has been on the road for a little over a month with just 170Bhp and I've already swapped my 400+bhp engine in. Hopefully have it running this weekend... then it's only a matter of time before the chipster finds a place to mount his can of laughing gas! LOL

All this talk of too much power just makes me want to cry!

Thanks dude! I've seen the pics of yours... WOW!

do you still have the boot in yours? Chip was playing about... and found that a gas bottle fits in there soooo perfectly that it would be rude not to!

... just updated myself on your thread... I bet all that silicone set you back a few quids. I know my lot came to over £600 with the joiners and clips etc - amazing how it mounts up!

I've stuck a boot in mine but yeah I did think to myself that there might be space in the back of mine for a bottle. I've got a different layout to you back there though - my fuel tank sits over the diff.

I meant the bottle fits IN the boot! Chip had it mounted... I'll dig out the pic for you to show you what I mena.

I'm keeping mine boot in as well...

Just talking to Stu as to whether its worth getting ProAlloy to make me a alloy rad... I REALLY just wanna do this once and do it right.

thoughts?

I've just used the V8 rad which has been fine so far. I see you're going down the intercooler route so depending where that's going to be mounted will determine how much room you have for a rad. My Chargecooler rad sits in front of my V8 rad and only just fits so there's no way I'd have gotten anything bigger in there.

Whatever you decide - I agree you should just do it right once. don't stick something that you know is going to be borderline in and hope for the best - especially considering how 'right' everthing else is under the bonnet. what does the moggy think?

larger has kicked in started with 125 and ended with a real 300 you all need three hundred .and you wont know till you have had it.and can nearly win the Brighton speed trials in a Westfield(2nd last year)

Even the most powerfull westfields are slow compared to the big bhp jap cars nowadays

I believe that a light weight westfield with no torque, big power and loads of revs is certainly a winner,  car engined of course. Makes for a responsive fast car IMO

Once youve got used to driving a 350bhp plus westfield you will never want sub 250bhp again

The fact you can out drag seriously fast bikes becomes addictive

Wowzers this is an old thread.

130bhp or thereabouts from a Blade engine is more than enough to scare me witless. It's all about the way it's delivered and the lightness of the car
