Westfieldman Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Recently I returned to Kayaking after an absence of over 25 years and joined the local club which are doing an event for the BBC Children in Need Appeal 2006 This is to be held in the Alexandra dock in Grimsby See map here as some of you are from down South you will have noticed on the occasional trip North of Watford gap it tends to be a little cooler up North The event will take place on Saturday the 18th of November 2006 between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon The theme will be pirates and will be a team based treasure hunt....Following clues ....complete some team based challenges.....rescue Pudsey bear...to discover the whereabouts of the Pirates Treasure Event organiser is bryanjessop@hotmail.co.uk What I would like is for you to sponsor me Every one is welcome to come and watch and volunteer to walk the plank So how about it Quote

Westfieldman Posted November 17, 2006 Author Posted November 17, 2006 Come on then it's tommorrow morning The river temperature is 9 deg C at present at the cooling water inlet for the power station 5 miles up river from the docks so the docks are likly to be around 8 deg C weather forcast looks like showers and slighly overcast So far I have over £400 so between you are you going to lift it over the £500 mark Quote
