spence Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I fly RC Helicopters and thought some of you may be interested in this infamous clip. http://media.putfile.com/Indoor-heli All i can say is NUTTER!!! Not a helicopter but this vid cracked me up http://holylemon.com/content.php?id=572 Quote
steppenwolf Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Doing that with an electric powered chopper makes sense but all the furniture covered with castor oil from an IC engine takes a brave or unmarried man! Quote
spence Posted September 22, 2006 Author Posted September 22, 2006 I'm saving my pennies for one of these. http://holylemon.com/content.php?id=677 Now where's them pesky....... Quote
Tigger Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Bejesus, wot a nutter indeed, one glitch of the radio equipment and those blades which I beleive rotate at about 200mph at the tips can cause some SERIOUS damage. BTW: I also have one, .30 size and electric but I keep breaking the leccy one coz it's so fagile and I'm a cr*p pilot! Ooooeeerrrrr! Tigger Quote
BuGsBuNnY Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Absolute idiot! That's the people that consider RC planes/helis/cars look like toys and then find out they are most certainly not. What a t***er! Quote
spence Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 Just ordered one of these. Looks good fun for £30. The vids look good I'm only 36, one day i will grow up http://www.firebox.com/index.h....0&itc=4 Quote

langy Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Not a good idea My Dad flies RC helicopters 30, 50 and 60 sized and i don't think my motther would be too impressed if he decided to fly them around the house. He was telling me at the weeked that he and 1 of his heli buddies (combined age 100+) spent an hour or so trying to get a model jet engine to run , after an hour or so they eventually got it running and were giggling like a couple of kids Sean Quote
justinkelly72 Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I concur with others what a complete idiot. Imagine the reports in papers if a blade had come off, or he had clipped the table. People are already trying to close down flying sites due to noise, we dont need brain dead ******s, providing further excuses. Many years ago I had an accident with one of mine, where I managed to put my wrist in the way of the main blades when they were spinning, luckily not at flight speed. End result was a broken wrist. The doctor said if I hadnt been wearing a metal wrist banded watch (which it smashed through) I would have been minus the hand! - They are not toys Quote
mr-rad Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I'm currently looking to learn to fly RC Helicopters and would like to buy an Aplus 400 electric 3D helicopter. Would this be a good helicopter or is it too compleacated for a beginner. It looks very well made in comparison to say an Esky Honey Bee and the like. It is my intention to learn to fly sat at my pc. Any help or suggestions much appreaciated. Quote
langy Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 It is my intention to learn to fly sat at my pc. Any help or suggestions much appreaciated. Take a look at this. Its a review on the Reflex simulator and no the screen shots are not photographs, they are screenshots from the simulator Quote
RICHARD+PHILIP Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Must be winter we're all twiddling our thums wondering what to do! I've just bought a Walkera Dragonfly 22e after playing with fixed wings for a few years It's an absoloute hoot to fly in the garden the one in the video was more stable than mine in the hover. for Simulators try freeware FMS it's not perfect but it's taught me a few things about helis Quote
blankczechbook Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 second vote for FMS for easy to use and free.. again not perfect, but then I had a Morley, so that wasn't either :-) Quote
justinkelly72 Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 Ahh fond memories - the old Morley. I had one of the original 2c's, which looked much like a bell 47g, Its amazing how something so large could fit into a carrier bag after such a short time!! In them there days before Gyros and computer radios. Quote
