though I'm sure the accident was serious and I wish him well, the cynic in me thinks this is perfect cricketing preamble to the new series of TG (due less than one month from now).

I'm sure if you ask most of those kids, they're also petrolheads and car enthusiasts, they'd also wish him well whatever their condition, they're just lower in the pecking order aren't they...

Wasn't attempting to provoke argument & don't want one; I found a rather sickening degree of that over on Pistonheads earlier.

The charity bit was just a thought that occured to me after Cadwell etc. As an ex Round Tabler, it was always second nature to have a supported charity.

Firstly, the cynic in me has receded...this is obviously no stunt nor an opportunity for fame.

But do we think he didn't realise the risk he was taking?

Was he cerebrally challenged...I think not.

In much the same way as a petrolhead competitor risks his life on almost every outing trying to outdo his peers, so do presenters seek new, more ever exciting and possibly exceedingly dangerous excursions in order to make their program  more interesting than the next.

Most of us take risks, some don't get the opportunity.

How Richard Hammond having an accident and kids in the third world can be linked in a thread IMHO is ridiculous.

Here we go again with an argument born from nowhere to prevoke a reaction.

My thoughts are with Hamster and family at the moment. The third world crisis ain't gonna be solved in this thread me thinks
