£6500 ONO 9700 miles

More pictures available on my website in the Photo Album (see www link below)

It is with a heavy heart that, after three months of deliberation, I have decided to sell my beloved Purple Westfield.

You only have to check out the website www.freewebs.com/bear-racing to see the care and attention the car has had and just what it has meant to me.

I have come to the conclusion that I am just not using the car enough and it is sad that she is left in the garage rather than adding a huge grin to some ones face.

I have my eye on a new toy and the car has to be sold to fund that purchase.

I bought the car in September 2003 and she had two previous owners, the builder and then the person I purchased her from.

The car was registered in 1998 and is on a Q plate. This means you are free from emissions hassles. She has sailed through the MOT’s and is sold with tax until the end of November and MOT until May 2007.

The car has just 9700 miles on the clock and just over 2000 miles ago had a full rebuild and re-bore to take it from 1600 to 1698. The V5 correctly shows the new engine capacity. The work was done by a Ford X flow specialist and the £2200 worth of modification included a lightened flywheel, forged race pistons and a 244 Kent cam. The car was prepared for the 2005 Speed Series but I only completed one event before the racing cash ran out.

During the rebuild the car was fitted with refurbished Dellorto DHLA 40’s and a new Aldon Twin Cam Distributor. At the same time we fitted a Facet electronic fuel pump and a Fuel King regulator. Upon the specialist’s advice, as the head had been already been ported and flowed, it remains set for leaded petrol. I run it on 97 unleaded and add a Castrol additive and booster.

After patient running in the car was rechecked and an oil change was done and the car was rolling road tuned to produce 155+ bhp. With the superb torque provided by the Kent engine this makes for a very quick car.

The engine is mated to a Ford Type 9 five-speed gearbox with an extension. The car is fitted with a manual choke to aid cold starting problems associated with the Dellorto’s.

It has an Omex shift light and rev limiter.

The column fitted ignition switch is defective hence the panel mounted alternative and poser start button. This would take a couple of hours and £50 to fix and the part is available from the Factory.

The other bits fitted since the rebuild / purchase

· 13 inch RS Alloys with Yokohama Advan A048R’s

· ITG foam filter and SS back plate

· AVO adjustable shocks and new springs fitted in May 2006.

· RAC spec Roll Bar fitted with custom hi level third brake light

· New Alternator

· New Starter Motor

· New Battery (18 months into a 4 year warranty)

· Westfield Padded Race Seats

· 4 points Harnesses with Willen pads

· Sparco Rally co driver passenger footrest

· Polished Alloy rocker Cover

· Mocal Oil Catch Tank

· Just the One Aeroscreen

· Momo Alloy Gear Knob

· Momo 300mm Sports Steering Wheel

· Alloy handbrake handle

· Chrome surrounds for gear and handbrake

· Aero fuel Cap

· Fire Extinguisher

· Custom padded Vinyl interior on tunnel similar to a Caterham and rubber mats to avoid problems with damp carpet.

· Custom bootbox to fit around Roll Bars stays.

· Half tonneau

The car will be supplied with

· Windscreen

· Windscreen Pillars

· Mirrors

· Wipers

· Wiper motor and assembly

· Wash Wipe bag and motor

· Switches

All of the wiring harness and dashboard is unmolested so the car could be back to a Windscreen version within a couple of hours with no evidence left of where the Aeroscreen was fitted. Having used the car with both I much prefer the Aeroscreen but it doesn’t allow the use of any weather gear hence none is supplied.

It also comes with:

· Spare wheel carrier

· Two Black sprayed RS Alloys fitted with budget tyres

· Aluminium Exhaust heat shield

· Original indicator pods

· Un-drilled Black GRP dash panel made by Just the One

· Spare wheel carrier

· Bailcast rear drive shaft gaiters (the current ones need to be replaced)

· All of the Spare switches, lamps, fixings etc that I have replaced or swapped out.

· Spare Oil filter

· Thermostat

· Fitted indoor car cover

· 10 litres of Valvoline 20w/50 Race oil.

· Fuel additive

· Some other stuff I must have forgotten.

I will include 3+ years worth of Westfield World, Build / Owners manual, Haynes Escort Manual for the engine, Haynes Crossflow tuning book and enough receipts to start a library.

Bearing in mind that I have spend over £3500 on the car in the last three years the asking price of £6500 ONO is not a reflection of the car more a reflection of the current market.

This is a superb example and really turns heads, the bodywork is not perfect, after 8 years it’s not likely to be but a car club friend said today that he spent 6 months trying to find a car as good as this.

Please don’t insult me with silly offers, I wont entertain dreamers or test pilots but by all means ask me questions, come and view and I will take you out for a blat. Bring good sunglasses and a change of underwear if this is going to be your first go in a Westfield.
