Steve R
I *may* have one in the garage. I'll have a rummage this weekend if you're still looking for one. I seem to recall having a complete Allegro upper column with ignition lock and key somewhere in the garage. I'll see if I can find it... Steve. Edited to add - I'm assuming yours is the Allegro style column, and not the escort column fitted to earlier cars or the sierra column fitted to SDVs?... Steve R
Hi Peter, Found that column lock in the end... BUT, it doesn't look the same as the one on my Westie (I assumed it was until I compared them!). The lock barrel points to the right of the car rather than at the driver as per the normal ones. I'm not entirely sure if it will fit the Westfield column or whether the locks are maybe interchangeable between the two lock housings?? Let me know if you're interested, no problem if not. Here's a pic so you can see what I mean: Steve.
pistonbroke2
Hi Steve Thanks for the picky. I reckon my lock is the same as the one on youre car and not the picture. The type I need has Lowe & Fletcher on the side of the barell. Looking at it the Lever thingy is quite slimmer than the one on the photo. Thanks for the bother and that anyhow. Peter. P.S. Wonder if that key will fit.
Steve R
Hi Peter, No problem. I think you're probably right about your lock being the same as the one on my car though. Sorry, I initially thought the one above was also the same as it looked very similar at first glance. You're welcome to try the key though Alternatively maybe you could remove the old lock and just fit a battery cut-off switch (for security) and starter button instead? Hope you get it sorted Steve.
