Roman
A few pictures for you all to pick over. The bodywork has quite badly faded, when I picked it up everything was covered in moss. I found a dead rat in the passenger seat and there was about 1" of water in the tub. This is just after I picked it up and had pressure washed it. These were taken once I had transported it to my work. http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n248/Roman1976/IMG_0628.jpg Heres a few of the engine. Some of the inside. pistonbroke
Looks like she'll need a top down overhall , Bodywork would be least of the worries ,You can either re polish the grp or have it re sprayed I would try re polishing it first with a good gel coat restorer ,much cheaper and quicker than any re spray . For the rest , its sort out the mechanics and electrickery as you go along . change all the fluids , check the fuel lines and tank for water damage , make sure theres none in there , get some fresh stuff in and run the engine . I would aim for MOT asap just get it up and running so you can hear the heartbeat again . hate to see any car neglected but escpecially a wessy , what a shame Still I'm sure you will turn it around sooner than later , good luck
perksy
Winters nearly here So think i'd be tempted to do a full Body off resto' and Rebuild Noticed the rust on the Chassis in the drivers footwell, so would be worth having a good look underneath and checking for Rust Give the Braking system a good looking at and check ALL suspension components, wheel bearings etc Good Luck
Thrustyjust
see if it will turn over.Take out the plugs and see what happens.I would be incline to try and start it,to see whats what.Clean out the fuel line and just put some fuel in a pot to gravity pour into the carb, clean the points and plugs and go for it.You may be pleasantly surprised. It will need a good going over.Brakes,definately.Engine,see above.Interior, won't take much and a good cleaning off all over and polish.Look out for some new headlights on e-bay.Tax,test and go. Roman
Just got the engine started. This was with old petrol as well. Leak from water pump, otherwise dosen't seem to bad. Going to drain petrol and put fresh in. New fuel filter, clean carb, change the oil, distributor and water pump. Thats for starters. Top Cat - I'm not to sure about Friday yet, might have something else on.
Top Cat
Excellent news on the engine, no probs with Friday, turn up if you can. You have my contact details. From the 'photos you posted I see I have a good selection of stainless button head bolts for your swept wings with your name on them
Gromit
A tub of G3 and a bit of elbow grease should sort out the bodywork. The leak from the water pump is to be expected as the seals have probably stuck to the shaft and torn when its been cranked over. Other than that, nice........................ you jammy git. Look forward to seeing you getting her back on the road.
