Steve R Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Well I finally got the SVA pass certificate on Friday!! Very satisfying after a year of spannering and asking stupid questions on this forum. Just wanted to say thanks for all the advice and expertise I received on here, it certainly made things easier for me. I initially had a few problems with noise which I now know were down to a calibration mistake on my tacho. This meant that my original noise test had been carried out at 12000rpm rather than 6000rpm Had a fantastic drive back from SVA too. Took the long route home and gave it some beans. Wow! Bit of a contrast to my old x-flow powered car!! Just need to get the thing registered and order some sunshine Thanks again for all the advice, Steve. Quote
scott beeland Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Well done on the pass. Cracking attention to detail on the build. Quote

Al Yupright Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Ssssssssssssssss.............................nazzy looking motor Got any close up pics of the boot box cover this is 3rd one but yours 'looks' like it's in one piece ? Boot cover is a bit sub-standard on yours isnt it... had to trim it when the cage was fitted and I never got round to replacing it with a carbon one from Fluke... Quote
nlash Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Congrats Steve... can't wait for my passenger ride Will we still be trailering it to the studio on Saturday? Its gonna look even better with Hayley gettin her kit off next to it Quote
Steve R Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 Slippy, the boot cover is indeed one-piece. Took ages getting the holes in the right places but it fits pretty well. I used the honeycombe carbon sheet from Fluke (carbon/foam sandwich stuff). jonansett, the tacho is an SPA unit (combined speedo/tacho/shift lights). Not sure I'm the best one to comment on wiring/set-up given my mistake in setting it up correctly for the first SVA! Nige, will still be trailering it I'm afraid as it's still not registered. Not sure I'll be in a fit state to drive after watching the shoot anyway!! Quote
