scruffythefirst Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 tried a search but it just gave a blank page! What shoes do you guys wear driving a westy. Thought about race or kart boots but I'd rather have something more "normal". can't find any trainers that look small enough, any ideas? Quote
dern Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Next regularly do trainers with a narrow sole, that's what I drive in. Regards, Mark Quote
Owen9364 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Oakley do some driving trainers which look Have a look in D/T cat http://oakley.com/o/o1690d Quote
SADDLEWORTH Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I bought a new pair of blue adidas titan for £35 off e-bay and have a great pedal feel Quote
JeffC Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 next trainers tried driving in a pair of cat boots once , one boot fit all the pedals Quote
Blatman Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I use Reebok Ex O Fit trainers. I take a size 10 in these, and both my cars have narrow pedal boxes. I agree that kart or race boots are a good choice for driving, but they are crap for walking in, as are most of the pseudo/fashion type driving shoe replica type trainers. Quote
The Great Fandango Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 The old style of Nike "Aqua Sock" are superb! Extremely thin & grippy "climbing-type" shoes, you can really feel the pedals through them. Quote
pistonbroke2 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Ive had a pair of Clarks No. 10. (not Jims ) for 4 years You can have them for nowt They batter my feet. Ooooh me Corns. Quote
Gromit Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Cant beat an old pair of Nike or Vans flatties (mountain bike trainers), nice smooth sole with non of the "skicky out bits" you get on modern style trainers. Quote
Mark B Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Depends on the size of your feet really, I wear karting boots but don't really have much choice (size 13.5 - 14's), demon theives do some nice kart boots that are just like a training shoe which are fairly narrow & have a good sole, about £30 iirc but they only go upto size 10.... Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I can drive mine quite comfortably wearing my size 7 DMs Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 A pair of *Brantano's finest 'trainers' at about £6.50 from their remainder bin. Mind you, I do have dinky feet at size 8. *for the uninitiated, Brantano is the Matalan of the shoe world. One up from a market stall. Quote
