pgh Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Really sorry. It's happened to me & it's a very strange feeling. After a week you'll have a better idea what to do. With luck, you'll find another job soon, and hopefully you'll have a tax free sum to boot. Most important is to not view it as a purely bad thing; I know some people who have paid off their mortgages through several redundancys! Quote
TrevorC Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I was made redundant last July -- my advice is (if possible) take some time to decide what YOU want to do. It could be the opportunity to make a complete change and fulfill something you have been thinking about for a while. I changed from flying round the world (Japan, Korea and America) to running a Post Office -- I miss the travelling but not the office/company politics. Stay positive and think it through Trevor Quote
Major Stare Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 Sales - Electrical Wholsaler (trade). Since leaving school - 10yrs for an electrical installation company - made redundant. A contractor area supervisor for NTL - 8 years, made redundant. Did car sales for 18 months but left due to never seeing my son and wanting a better life. 9 months till today as Sales - Electrical Wholsaler (trade). Gives me time to work on the car i suppose but no ££ to buy stuff i need New venture/career needed. I get paid for this month and next month will be tax, NI free.... which should help. Quote

KerryS Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Hey M8 that's tough. You seemed so happy with new job too. I'm sure you'll get yourself into something soon, but worrying for you and family. If you get hungry, I'll give you a meal or two. Kerry Quote
Martin Keene Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Sorry to hear that Dude... Been there too many times and know exactly how you feel. I've had one come right out the blue like that as well and they are a real b***h. Just don't sell the car unless it becomes a real nessecity, I contemplated it once when I was out of work, but I know I would have regretted it a few months later when I'd got another job. Quote

Fook selling your car, if it comes to that I'll gladly chip in so you can keep it I bet there is few like minded Westy fans who would do the same Quote
