MVS Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 Yep I expected them to be dearer, so long as it's not a silly premium I'm not bothered cos I just think they'll look the dog's danglies. Oh and they are pretty light so good unsprung weight for a road biased car. Quote
scott beeland Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 I'll be offering wheels only....It's not worth my while doing tyres as there are far too many good deals to be had on the internet. Quote
felters Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Very similiar to Caterhams offering... http://www.caterham.co.uk/onlines....g Quote
scott beeland Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Those are by Rial and only available through Caterham. The 13" version is a popular westfield fit but as far as I remember the 15" offset is all wrong for westfield Quote
MVS Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 Nooo where near as nice Any luck with suppliers Quote
scott beeland Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Bank holiday. Will be ringing on Tuesday Quote
robthehungrymonkey Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 These are the wheels I will buy if I ever sell my car (and buy a westy). What's the difference between the Superleggra's and the Ultraleggera's? Quote
MVS Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 'Ultras' seem to have superceeded 'Supers'. other than that, spokes look a little thinner ?may be a little lighter? oh and they're probably a bit dearer too Quote

Are we assuming they're stronger then? Quote
MVS Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 Well urm that's funny. Seems a bit daft that the ultra's are heavier. Typical automotive progress....Heavier and dearer Quote

Typical automotive progress....Heavier and dearer They must be stronger, i have heard of superleggera's breaking before. THough that was on big heavy cars. Not a westy Quote
MVS Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 Oh well it's that nanny state thing again. Easier to make them heavier to prevent lawyers geting fat on the claims. Wonder whether Scott is having any luck with prices & fitments etc Although I think he might be somewhat preoccupied with engine / clutch issues Quote
indy2000 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 a guy on locost builders has just bought a set from Maps ltd, including delivery and r888 tyres in 15" he's paid £690 http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=43171 Chris Quote
