Not that I'll be drinking too much at Stoneleigh this year chaps due to current investigations into internal issues

Sounds a bit gruesome hope it isn't catching

Hi

Any details about the engine?

The car pictured is based on a full Sport 2000S with the tuned Duratec and 6 speed sequential box, As I understand it, this bodywork is designed to suit the standard Wide chassis and could be orderd with a new kit (various engine options) OR as a retrofit / re-body job.

The fuel tank is different and sits over the Diff, Standard roll bar / RAC bar will fit, standard Scuttle & screen / aeroscreen

It just doesn't do anything for me, it looks a bit cheap and it looks like the max power lads from, down at the ASDA car park, have finished the rear off. All that's missing is some underbody neons and glowing dust caps :D

If I had been Westfield I would have consulted the owners club for what they would like to see and put a few drawings under their noses to guage interest and demand ( unless the design is purely for improved aerodynamics and performance, then you can do what you want :D   )

Not for me.  No practical advantages.  Questionable styling which IMO has no part to play in the Westfield experience.

( and isn't it exactly the same shape as the FW400? )

Gotta say itGot to say it looks pretty similar to me.

I wasn't keen when I saw some early pics of this but have to say over the day on saturday it definately grew on me but with an estimated £33k price tag thats all it will be doing.

£10k for styling?

Er no, thats 'cause the car it was fitted to was a 2000S, you know the expensive one with the 250 BHP dry sumped Duratec, Elite sequential gearbox, AP brakes, Nitron remote reservoir shocks etc.

Similar to the FW400; ah you mean it's got heritage :p  :D  :D  :D

I see a trend here!

it would appear that the new owners of Westfields don't particularly like it and....(maybe a bit peeved they purchased just prior to this option being available?)

The owners who have had their cars longer are quite complimentary about it.(looking for a facelift/upgrade?)

I've had my westie a short time and I have to say if that body option was available I would have gone for it - in black!

When my car is ready for a rebody that's what it'll be getting and OF COURSE it will have to be in Boghouse Blue

With you on that one I think, though maybe with just a hint of yellow somewhere  :D

Mind you, might have to do it with paint, can't exactly do the nosecone can you

Dave,

maybe just a yellow band round the front with a yellow racing stripe?

I'm saving already and might beat you to it - reckon it would look fantastic!

Well, I gotta say, I think it looked fantastic!

Wasn't so sure when I saw the 'sneak previews' that appeared here a few weeks earlier, but in the flesh it really does look the part.

The nosecone/bonnet combo seems to be a tad awkward (looked a bit 'wobbly' when the bonnet was raised outside, and seems to restrict access a little when in place), but at least it prevents bonnets being launched if they have not been fastened! :p

Sadly it looks as if the tradition of the rear lights being different heights has now been banished forever? :)

Well done Westfield! Nice to see some fresh ideas, subtly mixed with the 'traditional Westfield' lines - letting the car stand out in the seemingly overcrowded world of sevenesque cars. :t-up:

???

You read my mind, I just wasn't letting on    :D

I like the yellow nose on my current body work, but would have prefered it to be more of just a band round the grill. I occasionally witter on about doing something with it, but it's been quite a way down the priority list, up till now. It's just got knocked off completely  :D

I'll probably wait till I've had at least another winter out of it, but I reckon in a year or so, a nice freshen up with the new type body and maybe replace the aly interior with carbon sheet...

Oh God, NURSE, I can feel it starting again...

Seems strange to have those huge holes in the nose-cone, but not to bother ducting the output from the radiator through them - wasted opportunity shirley?
