craig-c Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Scooby looking good m8, is that the Carbon affect leather you have on the tunnel tops it's looking good, My car has been sprayed now will post some pictures when i get home Quote
scooby Posted March 19, 2006 Author Posted March 19, 2006 but whats with the lcd or is it tft screen??a bit ott imho. Maybe, but it looks well cool IMHO. Is that a full version of windows running on a palm or sommat? fair enough... but not into the bling myself. if you dont need it whats the point?? Just to reply to this as you have cast your frowning view on it. The system installed is an in car PC 1.1 gig 256mb 40gb HDD and an 8" TFT touchscreen running windows xp pro an AIM strada Datalogger and a custom made fibreglass dash. Weight 2.5Kgs lighter than the previous dash and gauges. WHY ? i'll tell ya. Over the last few years i have had many systems in and out of the car- Laptops PC's TOM TOM's and alike Varoius gauges etc etc etc. All to do various jobs Being a guy that embraces change i decided that i could have it all in car. So whats the point......... I have an MBE ECU which runs EasiMAP which is now all in car i have the ability to MAP, change rev limits, alter fueling, change fan temps, change MAPs dependent on situation. All this can be done in car where-ever i am in the world. I have a AIM strada Datalogger which is directly connected to the car PC system, this allows me to datalog and store the info onboard, also i can change the display, views, limits and warning lights again all onboard anywhere in the world. I run 2 SAT NAV software programs Co Pilot LIve and Autoroute 2006 both voice guidence systems. In the past people prepare a route to where-ever on autoroute and then use tom tom etc in car (with wires all over etc) to guide. The problem is that the tom tom system took different routes. Now i just load the autoroute map into the car and off i go. Wi Fi & Bluetooth - Both installed and useful. With a wireless 54Mbs connection onboard i can access the web where ever i get a hotspot. the abilty to browse thw web anywhere is great. I can download updates etc etc and keep my eyes on the WSCC anywhere in the world. Bluetooth combined with my mic headset allows me to make calls and receive without taking my eyes of the road. Also the copilot satnav is voice activated. Its also a great MP3 player and i can watch HDD based DVD's whilst driving :) Whats the point------Makes perfect sense to me everything in one place all to hand and it looks the bomb :) Hope this helps Ohhh and the parting cool thing......... I have a 90fps high speed usb camera with connects directly to the pc allowing me to video at the touch of an onscreen button which records dirdectly to Hard Drive ........ really cool function. Best thing is i have only scratched the surface of the functionalty of this digital system i have. To me definatly the point not just a gimmick.... Sorry its long winded but i just needed to explain before the pack closed in. Quote

scooby Posted March 19, 2006 Author Posted March 19, 2006 Nice Dash Scooby, where did you get the dash surround in Carbon from? Is it available commecially or did you have it specially made? Tigger Made it myself. Went to see MARTRIM and was introduced to Carbon fibre Leather its a full leather hide embossed on the top with rubber fused into a carbon fibre weave, the look and feel is really nice. Hides cost around £150 i covered the tunnel top, crash pad, rear cover above the rear bulkhead and the side pads with half a hide. Its being used on some of the new TVR interiors. Different as most things are with me Quote
