a4gom Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Comes in silver and brown (rust) 1992 pre CAT 1400cc cheap insurance Has a good engine n box think its on about 115k but starts and runs spot on, has a couple of months MOT is currently SORN is sat on some old battered GTE rims but have standard steel rims in shed, back arches were podded last year in a rush for MOT so not that clever has only needed strut tops in last 3 MOT's. There is a rust hole on tailgate it but has never leaked in. Petrol tank started leaking last year, I did a repair but can't guarantee is ok now as I haven't used it for 3 months. Needs alternator belt (pinched it for other project) to make sure you complete your journey. Car was written of for previous owner due to dent in front wing but this was before rules about getting it checked fit for re use came out. Dent is still there and I got logbook changed into my name no problem. If I hadn't stumbled accross another car I would still be using it and I'm sure it will go through another test ok. I've run it for a couple of years and its been spot on, not the pretiest car around but its never let me down. If anyone is interested even just for spares (you'll have to take the lot though i'm not splitting it) give me a shout i'll try post some pictures. Make me an offer (no matter how silly) / i'll p/x for anything / (to be fair if your offer was nowt you wouldn't be disappointed) I just want it of my drive asap as I have to move 3 cars to get the westfield out and its doing my fruit in. You'll need to collect from Keighley, west yorkshire.
a4gom Posted March 1, 2006 Author Posted March 1, 2006 Lurverly black 1996 Saab 900s. Flat cap n picnic blanket I know but it runs spot on and pulled my westie to boggs n back last week with no effort. Cars spotless, it had 10 months mot and 4 months tax £500. Seemed a decent deal.
potster Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Sounds like a bargain. Always been a fan of Saabs, might look at one myself as my next chariot. How did you get on at Boggs?
a4gom Posted March 1, 2006 Author Posted March 1, 2006 ok I think, Its on webers now, had a run out down there after he'd finished and it seemed ok, haven't been able to try it out since, need a new battery and the accelerator cable snapped putting the car back in the garage. Hopefully get it out this week and take it for a blast.
potster Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Give us a shout if you fancy a run out soon. Mine should* be back on the road by the end of the weekend. I hope
potster Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 Mainly tidying bits up, buffed the whole car to get rid of all the little scratches. Currently looking for new wheels and tyres. Probably upgrading the spings and shocks to a nice pair of alloy AVO More Carbon Fibre Already converted to aeroscreen. Degreased the engine bay What have your winter jobs been?
a4gom Posted March 1, 2006 Author Posted March 1, 2006 Had a long list and good intentions but so far have only managed to get the carbs swapped and set up, most of it will probably have to wait till next winter now. Would like to get a couple of things done before I take it on the track. 1- fit the extra support for the cage (can't remember what its called) goes down to footwell have the bar need to make the brackets. 2- fit cut of switch 3- re wire dash 4- fit a different air filter 5- fit a proper catch tank Hopefully i'll be fitting new battery which is due tomorrow on friday, and some number squares (if I source some) and SS sponsors decals. Then I just need to order and fit some Toyo R888's and away we go.
a4gom Posted March 2, 2006 Author Posted March 2, 2006 Some piccys for you the first one shows the dent on the front wing which wrote it off. Any good? Bear in mind it hasn't been washed for about a year and a half
