iManagebob Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Prompted by this post I re-read the reg's and couldn't see anything about this yellow neg lead requirement! Just got new spec's too! Got me wondering what else I've missed. Where does it tell you this? Perhaps burried in the blue book? Rgds BB Quote
adhawkins Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Where does it tell you this? Perhaps burried in the blue book? I'm fairly sure this is mentioned in the 'Introduction to Sprinting' guide on the main WSCC site. Failing that, then yes, it will be in the blue book. Andy Quote
Blatman Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 It's a Blue Book reg, IIRC under the general car prep section that covers *all* cars used for competition, not just tucked away in the racing or sprinting sections... Quote
iManagebob Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Doh! I know I'm a beginner to this, but I didn't realise! Be getting the book out later me thinks! Thanks Bob Quote
slippy Posted February 6, 2006 Author Posted February 6, 2006 Same here Bob In short you need a Catch tank, Yellow tape on battery leads, marked cut off/ignition switch, FIA approved suit and helmet, MSA National B licence and a timing strut that confirms to the blue book spec. I've probably missed a few but I'm sure the helpful chaps will remind me soon enough Oh and deep pockets Quote
Mark Stanton Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Yellow tape on battery leads Nope not on both only one - the black one and make sure both battery terminals have covers Quote

I've probably missed a few but I'm sure the helpful chaps will remind me soon enough Oh and deep pockets I think Bobs car looks like a car for the race series, so he needs a Novice Race licence, and doesn't need a timing strut 'cos his car will probably have a transponder fitted. Apart from that and the tape thing, you got it just about spot on... Quote
Mark Stanton Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 If Bob is Bob Bannister he's registered for the 2006 Speed Series so he may not need a "race Licence" unless he's racing as well eve'nin Mr B ............. good when folks only give you half the info whan asking a Q innit Quote
Blatman Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 I'm lovin' it. Makes adding to the FAQ's nice and easy Quote
iManagebob Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Nope - Bob is Bannister :-) Clocked most of the things, but missed the yellow lead somehow! Car might look like race series, but it's not yet :-) Number 38 is wifey's age, so put numbers on for fun! Isn't a transponder something Dr Who uses? Bob Quote
Mark Stanton Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Sorry Bob ............... wrong surname Bob M was last year Quote
