mikehreynolds
Was wondering if anyone knows the height the rear eyebolts have to be above the seat for SVA? I did a search but couldnt find anything definitive! Many thanks Mike PS havent got westfield spacers for the harness eyebolts have used big washers. Liam
According to the guide written by Jim Marland (date unknown) the minimum height is 450mm vertically measured from a point 53mm above uncompressed the seat cushion and 136mm from the seat back. When my one was SVA'd (L/Buzzard)they put a wooden block of the above dimensions and position on the seat and the placed a Heath Robinson affair (called Nigel apparently!)on it that consisted of a base plate with a vertical stalk and a bit of string. From a point 450 mm up the stalk the piece of string, that had a spirit level half way along it, was led to the eye bolt and if it sloped downwards towards the eye bolt it was a fail. Hope that makes sense and it would be worth checking that the formula hasn't changed. (Blatman where are you) IMHO you will not get away with washers but also be careful that, with a spacer, the eyebolt reaches the bottom of the lug.
