wildwesty
All above board! I am able to source new Duratec engines direct from Ford, Cosworth internals and ECU's but need to know what peaple would like before i get a list of prices. Eg. The 2.3 Duratec ranger which is fitted to the new caterhams would be no more than £1000 + VAT (undressed) Let me have a spec and i'll get some prices P.S. also let me know if these prices arn't good! Steven (WE51STE)
Hi Mike, I'd definatly be interested. I'm in the process of building a Duratec / Type 9 Westfield. I have all the parts apart from the engine ( + ancilieries ) Gearbox and Exhaust. I have just started looking for the engine ( I already have the jenvey throttle bodies and OMEX ECU). I was thinking of the 2.0L with arround the 200 BHP but if you can get the engine with other bits cheeper then I woiuld think about getting a more powerfull spec ( save time / money upgrading in a year or two ) If you could come back with prices for the : Std 2.0L ( ~ 200 BHP with my own TB and ECU) Std 2.0L+ mild cam upgrade (~ 225 BHP with ... ) Std 2.0L + Cam + Head (250+ BHP with ....) If the prices are good then I've got the cash burning a hole in my pocket. Regards, Steve - 0780 1055
wildwesty
Steve, Ive asked him to get me a price for the 2.0 engine as im told that the tuners like it (tho some say thats because the 2.3 is newer and upgrades are only now coming thro) Ive not got a duratec myself so dont really know what sort of spec peaple would want. What spec were you looking for? I'll get a price on that as a bench mark or if you want to give me a budget i'll see what sort of spec he can provide? P.S. he's not a builder just able to supply the parts so if you were to go for a 2.3 with cossy pistons and rods for example you would get a new engine and the cossie parts to fit! hopefully some one can give me a starter spec to get a price on!!
