fitting new diff

I have just bought a quaife diff to fit to my english axel but do not have no manual covering the axel. Does anyone have this info in electronic format? Is this an easy job to do? Is there anything else I should think about changing at the same time?

I took my English dif out a couple of times last summer. It's not a bad job, though it's a bit fiddly getting the diff through the chassis. I found it was easier to take the boot box out and lift it through the top, rather than wrestle with it underneath.

Undo the prop shaft from the diff and remove it. (Mark where it lines up with the diff flange first so that you put it back exactly as it was fitted. Undo the top wishbone-upright bolts, and lower the wishbones. That should allow you to get the drive shafts out of the  diff, though you'll need to undo the diff-chassis bolts first, so you can move the diff away from the dive shaft to get them out. Then it's just a case of getting it out through the chassis. (It's quite heavy.) Once out you can separate the diff from the westfield case.

I think that's it. Someone will be along soon to correct me if I've got something wrong. Good luck.

hmmm not quite sure what the wishbones that you are refering to are! do you mean the 4 trailing linkages to the axel? Also how do the driveshafts come out? :)
