Have less than a year in the forces and need to raise some cash to clear some loans and save for a house, the sensible thing is to let the westy go for now.......... but i will be back in the future  :D

What would i be likely to get for my car.

spec

2004 widebody SEiw

red

2 litre pinto (205 block)

Big valve head

ported and polished

piper 270 cam

lightened flywheel

shallow sump

polo rad

kenlow fan

catch tank

3.62 Lsd

spax'd all round

Currently has twin 45 webers but have all the gear to convert to megasquirt fuel and spark with gsxr 750 throttle bodies. (do i convert then sell carbs or sell as is and sell the conversion gear separatly??)

Car has 14" ford alloys painted white with ZV3 avons 2 less than 100 miles 2 2000 miles

sidescreens

westfield sports seats

willians 3 point harness's

Any ideas on price, the car isn't for sale just yet but will be in a couple of months, just rebuilding the engine so it will have a re-hone new rings and main bearings.

cheers

Karl

I'd forget re-building that engine and look at putting a Duratec in...

Pinto car £6-7.5K

Duratec £10-15K

Just seen a brand new duratec go for £950 on ebay....

That does sound tempting, thanks.

I'll have to do some more research and find out how much the conversion would cost and see if it works out to be a affordable investment.

Cheers

Is it a SDV or a Sei cause 6k is cheep for a 2004 car even if it is fitted with a pinto.

Is it a Q plate?

Post some more pictures including interior

Good spec. Pinto went for c.£6,500 recently....

That was a 1998 car 6000miles width swept wings surely Karls car is worth more than 61/2K

Karl don't under sell yer motor it looks clean and tidy ask 8K for it.

Barry and Darrell thanks for the support it would be a shame to only get 6k for the car. I think i will sell as is i don't think it would be affordable to do the duratec swap.

Ok, agreed that you shouldn't jump on the "undersell it" bandwagon.

However, I still think that the prices mentioned by myself and Nana's are realistic.....

But, if you're not in a rush, put it on the market in the Spring at £8k and, as its a pretty new build, you stand a good chance of getting close to that figure. Your problem will be if there are 16V engined cars around at similar money....

Good luck!

:)

I'd stick it up for around the 8 mark aswell. We need to get the market on the up for sellers.

That does indeed look a tidy car and is hardly used. Every car has a "right person" waiting in the wings somewhere. Hold out a bit for the right money.

Aint the forces giving you a payout to clear debts when you leave??
