Scott pre-lit
I am in the process of replacing my damaged x-flow with a rebuilt motor. I am intending to use this as an oppurtunity to replace the clutch plate however I am having difficulty finding out what it is!? My pre-lit has a 4-speed box with the plate having 20 splines. I have done a number of searches and found the part number for the 23 spline 5-speeder but nothing for my unit. Any info that I could take to Part-co would be great and hopefully enable me to have the car running again before the new year.
geofff
Hmmmmm, My 4 speed has 23 splines into the engine and 25 out to the prop Sorry no good Geoff
westy666
Scott It'll either be a type 2 or 3 dependent on whether the bell housing is removable or not i suspect. I had a type 3 into my xflow with 20 splines - check burtons website for the donor vehicles by hitting the tech support button on their homepage ... usual suspects are late cortina's/early capri's for the type 3 and the trusty 'scort 1/2 for the type 2.
