Copy paste removed so i don't have to do a 10 to 15 stretch!.Although i'm not sure the court room would be big enough for the thousands who also no doubt posted in the same way. :D

Better safe than sorry though ;)

I'd have one in a different colour . . . but if it won't fit in my garage they can have it back.

By the time it even occurred to me to change gears, the horsepower meter (oh yes, it has one of those, too) had flung its needle past 1,000.

If you look very closely, it actually reads 1001. How cool...

1001 not very impressive: it ought to go up to 1100 in true Spinal Tap form.

It would be ineteresting to see what happened if they decided to get funny though.

It bangs on about commercial gain mostly but i wonder what would happen if i said i just copy pasted all of that from another motorists web page such as this?.

One where someone else had linked to it etc? Also the pictures link directly to them, they are not stored on my machine and the original link was included.

I still can't see whether they would really give a toss about doing what i and no doubt thousands of others did/have done/do on a regular basis or would they get 'legal on my ass'.Such things must be happeneing a million times a day.

Either way i feel it would be laughed out of any court room with only the most finicky people actually caring.

You couldn't be further from the truth! It wouldn't be laughed out of court because quite simply, the law has been broken.

As a semi pro photographer, I come up against copyright law all the time and know of court cases that have been won by rights owners, where hundreds of thousands of pounds have changed hands due to such lawsuits.

The website where this review has been published would have cost someone a lot of money to contain the rights to show such material. To copy and paste into another site makes the rights ownership worthless and as such the purchasers might  well have got very upset and sued for compensation.

There have been many photographs and reports pasted in this forum in the past, where copyright infringement has taken place, this goes for video as well. Those responsible are undertaking a huge risk where in the past, it has been known for such participants to have lost their homes to pay for the fines imposed.

Be very careful what you post on the internet. As a general rule for photographs and copy, unless you took the photo or wrote the copy yourself, assume it is copyrighted and therefore restricted.

In this country, copyright law states that a photograph is owned by the photographer who took it, unless the rights have been sold to a third party. If any such photograph contains a recognisable person or animate object for example a dog, and the picture is going to be used for commercial gain, then a model release must be sought. This can also be true for some inaminate objects for example buildings etc where a property release may be required, but for such cases, prosecution is rare.

Edited to add...

Only a few months ago, a photographer was featured in AP magazine whereby a glossy mag publisher had used one of his pictures without consent and paying the tog for the rights to do so. The photographer successfully sued the publishing house for £30,000

I removed 'zippy' from my avatar for the same reason.
