CVH - fine (probably not many words contain the letters CVH in that order)

Le Mans..

"Le" - over 6 pages in 2 months

"Mans" over 3 pages in 2 months

"Le AND Mans" over 2 pages in 2 months

and virtually none (if any 'cos I couldn't be bothered to find out) have anything to do with Le Mans

QED over and out ...

The letters "LE" appear in letter, lend, lewd, length, lengthy, lentil... you see where I'm going with this?

It's the one thing that search engines are not very good at, sadly. Try approaching the search subject from a different perspective. Instead of searching for Le and Mans, think laterally rather than literally. Try searching for France, or French or camping or péage, or ferry, or Portsmouth or Le Harve or Caen or Mulsanne or Indianapolis, etc etc etc.

Try combinations using and or or, and see how you get on.

Why does the WSCC search engine not work like Yahoo, for example, where you can put in "Le Mans", like that, in quotes? If you do that on here, you get everything that has inverted commas; inches etc.

It occurred to me that simple 'Mans' is better than 'Le Mans' to eliminate all the LEmon and LEmming posts. It's amazing how many people was to post stuff about MANSfield, isn't it? :p

How can that be then?  :durr:

Surely there are two posts?  :suspect:

MANS = MANcheSter... no-one ever mentions that town :bangshead:

No idea why our search engine isn't *exactly* like Yahoo/Google etc. Why not ask the Webmaster?

tee...hee...hee (maniacal laughter is heard in the distance, the doors slowly creaks until it slam shut, everyone inside stops and turns to stare at you as if you are the undead. Even the music stops halfway through a song...an old wizened man, staring straight ahead, rocking backwards and forwards onto his knurled staff, spits reppeatedly through his teeth, "stay off the search, stay on the forums, stay off the search, stay on the forums, stay off the search, stay on the forums, stay off the search, stay on the forums, stay off the search, stay on the forums, stay off the search, stay on the forums, stay off the search, stay on the forums, stay off the search, stay on the forums...")
