Chasmon
You need a Zetec Injection loom, same for TB's or STD injection but different to the Carbs one for obvious reasons. I think the injection may just be a separate part that plugs into a generic loom anyway...Just ask at the parts desk in any case you'll have to modify that part only to attach to the ECU should be just attaching wires toa suitable connector. I have been advised (Westfield) that using a ECU from the donor is a bit of a nightmare and aftermarket is the way to go for simplicity (but they would say that wouldn't they). Having said that if you can get a proper workshop manual for the Zetec engine (not Haynes something more "involved") you should be able to see how the ECU integrates. The ECU may attached to all sorts and therefore you're likely to find you have to common pins and maybe hold some high or low as well as connecting up to all the sensors and outputs. Nothing more complex though I'd have thought. You'll have problems if you want to tune it though and it will be more work than an aftermarket one. Also depending on the engine age you may need the transponder in the key to get past the imobiliser - Ford will not remove this feature even if you ask nicely I've been told. Cateringvans with the K-series engine have used a Rover ECU, but not sure whether they get them prrogrammed differently from Rover... If you are building from a starter kit and wish to run the std injection you'll need a two piece lower column and a guide that mounts to the chassis or else the steering column will foul. Hopefully someone whos actually done it will be along and you can ignore my waffling... Cheers Charlie
