Madness kit Throttle Body upgrade

:D:D:D

Yeah, looks like we made it!

Great to see what we can do when we all 'club' together.  :D:D  :p

Can't wait now, After being so exhausted from the many late nights prior to passing my SVA, I swore it would be a while until I started to upgrade / tinker with the car, I promissed myself I'd at least wait until next year......

:0:0

Now I can't wait to get back in that garage, rolling around on the floor with the dirt, oil and spiders, surviving on the occasional warm brew, scratching my head whilst trying to figure out what I'm doing! :D:D  What fun!

Cheers Kerry and everyone else who has helped make this possible, and I hope you all enjoy this as much as I'm sure I will. :)

Don't let the Magic number 8 being reached put anyone else off though, I'm sure WF will be happy to add more people to this Bulk Buy.

Mat. :)

Have we confirmed the 8 ???

If so what is the expected timing of the new arrivals?

Just to confirm, I spoke to Mark and Chad at WF this morning to confirm my interest. Am I number 8? :D

Hello again

When I asked MArk about timescales he said first step was to set up a zetec and sort out the map for the ecu, then get the parts ordered.  We then return our ecu's to have the new maps loaded and then it's all the fun of removing the plastic plenum and fitting the shinyTBs. Didn't really push him on timescale though but i got the impression it wouldn't be long. The sooner the better but I need a bit of time to sort out my garage for all this as we seem to have accumulated a load more junk since the build finished 2 years ago.

Just had a thought, if this involves new ecu / engine loom could we get a shift light connection thrown in as well?

???

We still need to confirm that we have the 8.

I would suggest that we coordinate through one person, rather than lots of people all talking to WF for the same info.

Calling Kerry...(if he doesn't mind  :t-up: )

We first of all need to confirm that the deal is now on, followed by an understanding of the next steps & the timing from WF.

A copy of the instructions before the parts arrive would be good to read through.

Anything else?

If someone is going to be speaking to WF on behalf of us all could they please ask if my ecu will be allready mapped for me when they send it to me as I am purchasing the ecu aswell as the TBs.

I too agree some instructions prior to recieving them would be good.

Thanks in advance,

Gavin.

Ooops! Thought I had posted this but must have just thought it - senior moment

1) I will speak to Mark tomorrow to confirm he has got the necessary 8 deposits.

2) I will then talk timescales with him.

3) I will then put a post here.

Gavin

Yes I will ask the question about your ECU - I presume you included this request when you sent your deposit? My guess is that it will be pre-mapped, it would sem a nonsense to send you a Madness mapped ECU for you to send strainght back for a TB map to be blown.

Mark has said he will generate some instructions but, again, I suspect they will come with the bits.

Mark has always said to me that a bit of development will be needed to get the map and loom up to spec.

I am happy to act as coordinator but Mark has said he'll answer any queries directly, but might I suggest you all wait until my next post?

PS Any more out there going for it? I'm sure WF would not object to 10 rather than 8 :D

No Paul, don't resist. You could have 155 bhp - assuming your diff keeps its oil in

I have just spoken to Mark and he confirms that he has 8 deposits  :)  and is about to place orders for parts.

As I thought, Gavin's ECU will be pre-mapped for the TBs.

After the others's ECUs are returned for re-map, there will be some sort of set-up procedure to match to the TPS and this will be explained in Mark's instruction sheet.

Delivery - a little vague at the moment but suggest work around 4-5 weeks.

Read this thread last night and spoke to mark at the factory today, mine is a new build with Zetec 2.0 so he has offered me a complete kit with ECU for £1620, only problem is he cannot supply the correct map.

Can anybody help me with this, also knowing nothing about ECUs how do you go about installing it please?

At first I thought I had already asked Mark about this issue, but in actual fact, it was the later WF supplied 1800 Zetecs I had asked about, the ones with the 130 cams and cast plenum. So, no, the 2 litre ones have not been discussed.

With the 130 cam'd 1800, Mark said the map would run fine but there could be some further gains if tweaked on RR. Perhaps worth asking Mark if the 1800 MBE map would run a 2 litre? ???  ??? enough for you to drive to a RR?

I guess you need to know soon as Mark is ordering parts now, wait too long and you'll be back to forming another queue of 8.

Mat1800 has looked into what the 2 litres could have in the past, but not sure he took it any further after the WF deal came up. Mat??
