KerryS Posted November 12, 2005 Author Posted November 12, 2005 You mean I have to take it to bits already?? Flappa - goes fine; definitely more urge lower down the rev range, pops & bangs more on overrun, doing steady 80 on way back and there's more urge at that speed too to take you above anything legal And those red things just look the dogs wotsits Kerry Quote
Blatman Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 Looks the nuts. Well done to both Kerry and Mat for a well executed bulk buy, and well done to Westfield Sportscars for an excellent supply and service package. and all round... Quote
itguy Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Yep - jak's right, I did mean the pipes under the filter. Interested to compare to mine thats all... pops & bangs more on overrun Interesting.... Could I be as bold to suggest further tuning and adjustment may be required? My car NEVER pops/bangs at all - some might argue its a sign of a car that needs a bit more fettling (while others will say they have MADE it like that because they like it, and I'm sure your in the latter ) Quote
Blatman Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Agreed. The popping and banging on the over run can be eliminated. Or you can set it up so that you get a couple of feet of flame out of the exhaust on the over run. Your wheel arch and exhaust packing will suffer though Quote

Thanks Blatters - my measure of success is when the other 9 have got their kits too Will Excuse my naivity, and leaving myself open to O/T replies , how do you define size - of the ram pipes that is? I have taken the filter off to have a look and there are some round things with radius entries. Is it the diameter - but what diameter ? - or the length? Or shall I take a piccy for you? Kerry Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 Its the length Quote

Apparently it's been on MBE's RR twice and one would have thought that they would know their product as well as anyone or am I being an ? I suspect that some of the stuffing in the silencer has had a bit of a harder time than it ever did with me so far, the exhaust has definitely changed colour, looks more like jak's now Kerry Quote

Strangley my exhaust seems to be a lot louder than it used to be, and also I have been out in mine a couple of times this weekend and it was n't popping on over run at all. Ah well, can't wait to get my throttle bodies - and then to see what colour the exhaust goes next Quote
