KerryS Posted November 7, 2005 Author Posted November 7, 2005 You can download Easymap from the SBD website - there's a tutorial version as well as an active one. I down loaded the tutorial one..... It strikes me if you can't understand it, I could do far more harm than good. Kerry S Quote
Flappa Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Hi Kerry, Yes I found that one, but you then need to buy a connecting cable for £32 + VAT. Worth noting for future ref. Have you got your car back from WF yet? Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Or just make your own lead it's easy enough. The wiring info is on SBD's site. (Bits from RS, Farnells, Maplins etc) One thing I never was sure of on the lead, why the resistors? An ordinary RS232 seemed to work before I made a pukka one. Quote
KerryS Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 And the other thing is a serial port on your laptop - not too common now, but there are serial to USB convertor thingies. Update The car is back at WF and was hoping to collect today but with rain forecast this pm Mark couldn't complete what he needs to do before my deadline for leaving there for the 60 mile trip home. So it will be Friday or Saturday before I can collect - and rest assured I shall ask about the dispatch of people's kits then and post back here. REALLY good news is 144bhp on the rollers I was so chuffed at that I forgot to ask whether that was at wheels or with suitable increase to represent at flywheel. Kerry S Quote
MAT1800 Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 That ought to keep our condition, you know upgradeitus, under control for a while then..... Quote
Flappa Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Looking at the forecast, Saturday would seem favourite. Interested to get your feed back on how the new setup behaves etc... Quote
darthurs Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Kerry Doh! Miss-read, must read slower. Can I delete it my previous post??? Dan Quote
KerryS Posted November 12, 2005 Author Posted November 12, 2005 UPDATE for TB upgraders I collected my car today and WF have made an excellent job of it. The kits will be ready in about 3 weeks and will come with the filter, TBs and manifold all pre-bolted together. Mark will advise me when they are ready and then I will put a post here to advise folks. You then have the option of collecting it and taking the ECU with you for re-map, which they'll do there and then BY ARRANGEMENT or usual couriers and post the ECU back. Gavin - I would assume your will be pre-mapped. To keep your interest up: Many thanks to jak for the lift down there. Had a nice trip back in the sun Kerry Quote
